You are 100% correct the CWU are Royal Mail lapdogs, it's why I left them years ago after one of a long line of surrender deals they agreed with Royal Mail. The only thing the CWU care about is the members subs and looking after themselves.toonshola wrote: ↑07 Aug 2026, 18:38It’s f***ing disgusting that those two overpaid lazy twats at the top of the CWU are in hiding/on an extended summer holiday whilst this continues to take out delivery offices and their staff one by one across the country.
It’s ODM in a slightly different name and no amount of their stupid propaganda will convince me otherwise.
We had it brought in 3 weeks ago and it’s absolutely insane the work we are not expected to do going forward. Leaving second class on one side saves some time no doubt but a lot of that time disappears with double mail on the other side. It will NEVER free up enough time for a postie to do another third of a delivery even on the longer shifts available in the pick of shitty options that Walsh served us up. Walsh and Ward should be front of the queue demonstrating how this can be done because it’s not f***ing possible by a human being, maybe an OpenAI android could do it in the future but not us.
I’m sure my post will be deleted from this board as I’ve probably went overboard criticising the waddling Demi gods that run the union but who cares anymore. Like many I’m now absolutely done with this ridiculous f***ing job and I’m determined to be out of here in the next 6-12
Months. We are payed nowhere near enough to deal with this crap. Complete s**t show.

Re: 304 offices
We go live on 17/08, we were informed of this today. Less than a week to sort out childcare for many of us. The office is already a shambles, so on Monday it'll be even worse. Is there a word for double shambles?

Omnishambles?
The 17th is our live date too and everything is still up in the air. OPL was in the office this morning reportedly insisting the charge must proceed. Management asking people to work their days off next week... but what are our days off next week? What was the result of the attendance pattern vote? What duty am I on? Those who do know what the f**k is going on aren't blabbing to us.
I can only make my own personal observation, which is in agreement with the chatter on the shopfloor: it's a NO GO on Monday. I reckon the latest it could be forced through is mid October, so pressure will mount on the rep to sign off within the next two months.
The machine stops.

I don't think it's unreasonable to be asking for 28 days notice so that childcare can be sorted out. A week's notice on the other hand is totally unreasonable.notsure.com wrote: ↑11 Aug 2026, 21:41We go live on 17/08, we were informed of this today. We were told we voted for it (Monday this week we voted on the shift pattern) and it’s being implemented a week later. Mental. I also get the feeling managers are being railroaded into it at our place but hey ho that’s what they get the big bucks forDavemac1978 wrote: ↑11 Aug 2026, 22:41I don't think it's unreasonable to be asking for 28 days notice so that childcare can be sorted out. Re: 304 offices
I've been asking for several weeks from management and union how PT fit into this new system and constantly been told we'll know more next week. Still not had an answer, I'm not in the union so was not involved in any vote. Back in 2022 I had a shift change which I still have the paperwork for and it clearly statesnotsure.com wrote: ↑12 Aug 2026, 07:18

"You're duty structure at this office will be charging to align with the duty structure in place. This is in line with Royal Mails pay and modernization agreement, which requires me to give you 28 days notice".
Rumour has it my office is changing shifts within a week or so, but I've been told absolutely nothing about it. Therefore if they were required to give me 28 days notice back in 2022 I see no reason why they don't now, so I'll be putting it to the test at the very least.

Stop supporting them then. It's that easy. Enough peopple leave they'll take notice.Iva bigredbag wrote: ↑10 Aug 2026, 09:41You are 100% correct the CWU are Royal Mail lapdogs, it's why I left them years ago after one of a long line of surrender deals they agreed with Royal Mail.
