Oooh brilliant! Let us know about the best option you guys chose pleasechickenwittle wrote: ↑24 May 2025, 13:47Have you not had the 7 options of shift patterns put on display in your office ? Ours have been up for weeks and people are starting to consider the best options for when it comes time to vote.postslippete wrote: ↑24 May 2025, 05:42Not sure I'm getting positive vibes from these joint statements full of bureaucratic bloat and buzzword salads. It's classic CWU comms. What does unlocking attendance patterns mean? Will everyone be expected to work Sundays or asked to work later in the day? Will we be forced to take on more? Deployment planning suggests that massive changes are coming and that we just have to deal with it.

Up in Scotland we were told due to us having such a late finishing time just now we can't choose certain rotations.
Then also told that some rotations are ALL drivers only.
So we're only allowed to pick from 3 when the time comes.
Old 1/6.
2/5.

Exactly the same.
4 day week and we wouldn’t be getting home till 7pm. We have basically been given the same 3 options.

So there's 1 more month of trials going on? so surely the CWU should be able to get back to us about exactly how the trials have gone so far....
Are the trials being extended as in some offices the trials are starting much later than originally planned...

So much for the 4 day week then!! It's not even an option if you're finishing at that time for most postiesNeverwasadoor wrote: ↑30 May 2025, 07:04Exactly the same.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I remember before Christmas the union said uso change should provide at least a 9 day fortnight for every member of staff in delivery. Then you see the real shitty options once it starts to become a reality, just another example of false fantasy island promises from Dave Ward and Martin Walsh.postslippete wrote: ↑30 May 2025, 09:28So much for the 4 day week then!! The 9 day fortnight option has 8.5 hour days Mon - Friday so could be an option for offices fortunate enough that they don't start at silly o'clocktoonshola wrote: ↑30 May 2025, 10:06I remember before Christmas the union said uso change should provide at least a 9 day fortnight for every member of staff in delivery. I could see our office voting in 2/5 rotation.
Finishing times would prolly be 4pm town and 4:30pm rural.
Scotland is a mess with times though.
Really needs looked at. To get our start times earlier.

Same, it's 7hrs50 mon-fri so only 5 mins longer than our longest weds on the current longs and shorts, and tbh that's about the only positive aspect I can think of the whole thing.buchanpeter wrote: ↑30 May 2025, 13:08I could see our office voting in 2/5 rotation.

Looking like the same old story from CWU on DOs. Scotland doesn't matter, keep London sweet and the rest can just deal with it.buchanpeter wrote: ↑30 May 2025, 13:08I could see our office voting in 2/5 rotation.

Re: LTB 102/25 - USO Reform – National Joint Statements/Updated Communication
Royal Mail terms changes from their website.
The trials haven't finished so how do they know if they were successful?
Also I thought the CWU won't agree to USO reform until pay talks have been completed which they haven't.
Changes from 7 July 2025
Changes to Second Class and Economy delivery speeds
Second Class, Economy letters and Large Letters will be delivered 5 days per week on alternate weekdays (Monday - Friday). This change will go live from 7 July 2025, or the date Ofcom agrees changes to the Universal Service Obligation (USO), whichever is later. We will phase this change in from the go-live date. Service speed for these services remains unchanged. This change reflects the Ofcom proposal to redefine the Universal Service Obligation to support the financial sustainability of the USO.
The changes will impact Business Mail, Subscription Mail, Publishing Mail, Advertising Mail including Catalogue Option Partially Addressed, Sustainable Mail and Response Services.
Delivery of First Class letters will remain unchanged.
Changes will be effective from 7 July 2025, or the date Ofcom agrees changes to the Universal Service Obligation, whichever is later.

I work in England, and our long days (Wednesday and Thursday) are already a 4.30pm finish for both town and rurals, 3.50pm on a Saturday.buchanpeter wrote: ↑30 May 2025, 13:08I could see our office voting in 2/5 rotation.
