That’s weird. I seem to remember that Christmas meant absolutely nothing to them last year

We couldn’t complete our deliveries during the summer, now we’ve had our oversize put back on our deliveries. And now this! £500, obviously pro rata, to give yourself a heart attack and get managed out of your job.

For a company that was losing a million pounds a day and posted an operating loss of a billion pounds 6 months ago, they now have money to give away....


Awaiting details of the one-off quality of service incentive scheme. Will staff be expected to clear their frames everyday? What if you come back to a frame full of mail after your day off? Or are they expecting you to work all your days off? What about the offices that have not had their revisions? How will they be assessing 'quality of service'?

Whilst no one wants to miss out on any extra money it might create a few issues if some staff in a section get the extra and others don't. We all do the same job and if someone is doing extra work then they get paid for that extra work don't they??

They can afford to say it because they'll never have to pay it. It's discretionary and they blown that budget with Tommos gardening leave. I don't believe a word the management or our useless union say now

1) before revisions it was clear frames every day, and willing to stay out. 2) now an extra 4-500 houses, probably cleared 5 times in the year. 3) we are already flooded with agency who should be doing DPR 4) I'm dead on my feet and feel sorry for the public who once relied on us to deliver 5) look forward to having Christmas cards in Jan/Feb after the ridiculous announcement of last day posting dates. Probably 12 thousand good workers gone, until you get them back and make the rounds smaller RM will enjoy years of glorious failure, congratulations

Don't recruit staff, but work every single day off and work until silly hour and you might get a bonus. Head torches at the ready folks. Hmm....

A Discretionary ( and probably pro-rata ) bonus
35 hours contract for me so that knocks it down to around 470
Minus Tax and NI reduces it to about £350

Am i willing to work even harder and longer than the presently overly long walk with all those extra parcels and letters for a company that boasted a 'War Chest' to take on it's own employees earlier in the year ? .....

Doing my currently 2 hours a week compulsory overtime to claim back the hours in Summer when we get reduced to 33.

Taking all the break, work to time (cutting off every day for months now) , don't rush around and go home safe.

Shame it's come to this but the company screwed itself.

Lots of very strong anti-bonus shouting, but we had all this before the bribe/bonus got the pay deal over the line.
Always remember there are people who would climb over a mountain of good posties bodies to get their greedy mitts on a few pounds more, and i don't mean the people who actually need the money to survive week on week, i mean the greedy ones who don't really need it but want it anyway.
Funny enough it's one of the reasons we are in the s**t as the shareholders are the same.

Theres a few of those creatures in our office but won't make any difference if a few good men/women stick to their guns, if it is all connected to a clear office policy then these creatures will have to clear what we leave everyday to get there hands on any dosh and that aint gonna happen

Instead of making it an office wide thing, they should do it by duty and by individual person. The option should be there for each person to complete and earn extra for doing so. The extra could be called something groundbreaking like overtime.

By the way RM, don’t forget to order extra vans this Christmas.

It’s there already , if you cannot complete your delivery in time you either bring it back or stay out there in atrocious conditions like today and get paid. What’s the difference?

It works out around £285 for me after deductions.

If I was that desperate (I’m not), I’d simply break the habit of the last 2 years and works 3 days off and go at my usual pace.

I always thought you were stalking me around the forum. This confirms it.

How is it a troll? If you want to earn extra money it is there for the taking. The company is going to have to pay people to do extra this Christmas and you get the bonus on top. Good news for everyone.

Whoever signs up to this £500 bonus and completes within a certain time frame will be expected to work like donkeys all year round,a fool can see,that there is clearly an agenda here,I admire your positivity,but where does this end?,we can only do so much,
