It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Absolute parasites the lot of them. Living off the sweat of posties. Wage thieves. Embarrassing.

Certainly embarrassing, no question about that, but I must confess I am strangely drawn to this well of comedy gold.

It's like something dreamed up by David Brent that represents some happy clappy parallel universe that is totally alien to most of us here.

Yet I take encouragement knowing that, in the event of a zombie apocalypse or end of civilisation scenario, those both nominating and receiving these worthless accolades will be amongst the first to fall.

It will be Darwinism at its most beautiful finest.
Sooner or later, a beat dog bites.

You're right it is comedy gold. I've worked for big corporates and not so long ago people got nominated for cheeky small appreciation awards on a monthly basis. This involved cash amounts - 50 quid upwards. So it actually meant something.

It seems these have been done away with and replaced with virtual awards which involve no compensation for your efforts. Brilliant cost saving by the corporate bean counters while maintaining the oasis of appreciation. Seen it at a few places. One of my former colleagues was beaming when he got one once, while I just pissed myself. It's a brilliant wheeze.

Jesus wept.

This is beyond parody.

Do you think I might get nominated if I put balloons and banners up to celebrate our first 'Clear Office Day' in over three months (it's unlikely, as I can't see our office clearing anytime soon)?
