Really busy today (monthly bank statements only a week after we used to do them) but everything went well.............by that I mean not getting rained on

i had the day from hell

im usually on the rurals as a floater but fridays i have been put on the busy high street, which i hate.
it was very heavy. i had to walksort too. i left the office at 11:30!!!!!
i had to throw back 3 specials cos i wasnt gonna make the 1pm deadline.
had a heavy trolley.
guess what- its also freshers week! so lots of dozy students cramming the streets!
i was right peed off
didnt get back to the office til 3pm!

i never look forward to a friday!!

My bags are generally okay, my last bag today was about 5kg (I always pack a light bag at the end), my heaviest bag was my 1st, etc. I'm not going to break my back doing the job, unlike some at my DO who seem to be on a mission to reach an early grave. Good luck to them, I say.

I didn't carry a single bag over 11kgs today, including my first one, so what's changed? I went out of my way to ensure my bags weren't overweight, as usual.

Left the office at 10.15. Allowing for the 10 minute ride and then 4 hrs for the walk. Managed to finish about 2pm. So finished in just over 3 and a half hrs. Pleased with that. Had a lot of DSA and flats today. We work till 14.45 on Fridays and I had 10 mins of my break to take at the end (had 40 mins in the office). Sweating like mad all the way round, really warm and no breeze.

Today during my meal relief I watched Baby Spice (standing in for Lorraine Kelly )interview Pixie Lott.
(I didn't actually know who she was but one of the whippersnappers soon put me straight)

I could be missing something , but all in all I'd have to say, for me ,that day would not be classed as generally OK. But I do accept we are all different

Long day.

Found out another two people have left in the past week but won't be replaced. There must be twenty-five walks minimum in our office that start the day without cover. Some guys are going out and doing two and a half walks at present just to get the mail out. But yes, all is rosy in the arr-em garden.

Not yet.

They probably wouldn't sack you if you went in shooting with a shotgun with the way they're haemhorrhaging staff, tbh. However, the issue I've been forewarned about has yet to be raised. Maybe it has been ignored, brushed under the carpet. It wouldn't surprise me much. If you stay in the gaffers good books, you get away with murder - so 'tis said, anyway.

A very pleasant surprise this morning - I was off sick yesterday, and I came back to find only half of my delivery had been taken out, and whoever did the section that was taken out, left several packets behind. Also, letters were left in the redirection wallets for me to do. Ah well - the saving grace was there wasn't too much for today, but I was not at all amused at the state of my frame this morning!

Not a bad sat really. Got out at 8am and back by noon so thats my time. A very gloomy day though and had the lights switch on the van all the way round.
