I have not done a bike delivery BD, but I know Royal mails plans do not include bikes only in exeptional cases will they be aloud.

Two drivers make it easier to plan and do the delivery’s but it isn’t necessary, it can take 2-6 weeks of trial and error for two posties to get their park and loop working well.

We allready have park and loop in our office which is meant to take 3.30 hours but sometimes takes nearly 5.and to get the delivery done some of the staff on park and loop are taking 16kg bags out of the van and steaming up and down stairs on some sections so its hard to compare like with like until there is a clear national agreement.The walking deliveries plotted in our office are without 15 minutes signing/replenishment time and with no H&S being applied so if theres a high call rate then they can easily take you over 4 hours if you do the job properly,so when you say 4.15 can that be done without your arse falling out the back of your troosers!?

You should have a clear local ageement dunnzer on park and loop which includes H&S weight of the shoulder and a ban on private cars on delivery.It all comes back to "Do the Job Properly" dunnzer posties have got a habit of cutting there own throats,work the hours you are paid for,do the overtime if you want, or cut off.

Equally the issue of door to door could be of contention but the flip side to this is that not everyone does door to door now and not everyone does 3 items now whilst all delivery staff including nights , indoor , drivers , reserves and rest day covers will receive a supplement paid 52 weeks per year.

Its a done deal then... I mean all these above who don't currently get D2D money are laughing. 6.5% over 3 years + £1500 and maybe some other bonus that you are not mentioning yet... and an extra £30 per week. They won't even bother reading anything else... oh and working 2 hours less... god it will be "where do I sign"!

aye you are spot on with posties cutting their own throat but one of the main reasons why we were on strike was because if you do the job properly your up for the sack due to performance issues.As for H&S its like banging your head off a brick shithouse to get anything done in my office,because one like you say its seen as a hinderance to most staff and only exists as words in the SSW folder for royal mail.
