Total utter shite, today!
Last vehicle in from the mail centre is supposed to arrive around 8:10-8:20am with 40% of our walk-sequenced mail and bugger all else.
Today’s kick in the nuts was that it didn’t arrive until 9:20 and the coup-de-grace was that it turned out to be more like 70% of our mech for the day and most of our packets.
Bloody wonderful! Didn’t get out of the sodding office until nearly 10:40. Luckily for me I wasn’t on my usual duty. I was covering someone who’s on holiday and their duty is an hour or so shorter than mine. Still ended up booking an hour 15mins O/T nevertheless (so not all bad, LOL!)
DOM was going ballistic! We were due a delivery from the new Area Manager today and, for the first time in ages, the office failed. On top of that he could see his O/T budget being blown out the water. Not a happy bunny.
Anyway, thank you very much Gatwick. No doubt, you have your problems and I’m absolutely sure it wasn’t intentional but the net result was a totally crap day for this DO.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Funny old day. Started on a low note when I saw that my one remaining box of d2ds had become three boxes worth - someone in the office obviously likes dumping theirs
. Took me three and a half hours to do my round. When I got back, all the d2ds had gone. Everybody's; taken away, gone, no sign, not a trace. Just gone, not even a remnant of cardboard forlornly clinging to the mucky floor. Which means my one sixth that I was going to do tomorrow won't happen. Not that I'm bothered - can't do it if there's none left to do.

First day on almost own (not fully on own, coach still there a little! )
Very busy. load of misorts . but few packets so that led to resonable 1.30 finish.
Tomorrow Saturday,,,,,,,,,fully on own. Sink or swim time ......

Is it coincidence ... or does it always go to sh*t the day after one's day off ?? I ask purely for information ...

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Got two mbrs who put incorrect times down on the attendance sheets today to make their working day look longer than it actually was.
Both put last stop was 12pm but both were in the D.O when I got back at 11.40am

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
