Did my walk. Got back, did another full walk for overtime. (Both are big walks too.) Got home, played football for 2 hours. Physically f****d. Never again.

Heaviest day for the last 6 months on packets. I had 3 full bags alone of packets, crazy.

"Still got the shorts on" some of us wear them ALL YEAR! and we're North of Border!. Yes even in last years snow!.Am only covering this walk, but its a FT's so its not the hardest.Done in just under three hours. A nice wak in the sun apart from the junkies, alkies, Rottwieilers and broken bottles.Back to reality of four hours plus in a couple of weeks!.

Really bad day with shed loads of flats. I weighed the delivery and without the yorks tare weight it was 133 kg

Did a walk and a half today. Finished at 3.42pm. Not too bad, I thought. Then as I was cycling back I was abused by a member of the public for having the audacity to be out, wearing a postman's uniform, at that time of day. I would love to say it was light-hearted but it was full on abuse. Apparently, we should be out at 8.30am (presumably we must be omnipresent as well and delivering to every house at this exact same time). She threatened to ring my manager. I giggled a lot inside - what manager? He was home hours ago . The general public really know nothing about the modern postal system, do they? I don't even start by half-eight!

Today went well to begin with, lapsing excepted, right up to the point a pissed off wasp flew in the window & stung me near my neck ( just on my collarbone )! The worst of it is that's my THIRD wasp sting in three WEEKS! I was bloody incandesent about it ( the sting I got on Saturday, on my forearm, was just starting to calm down, now it itches worse than before ) - to say I feel "s**t outta luck" would be an understatement

Why do people like that exist? I probably would have gone back to confront her, but then again i probably have far too much foolish pride! In fact, why have i developed an appetite for having pointless arguments with members of the public ever since i got this job?

Anyway, i was done by 12:35...Nothing of note happened, dreading not being on this (baby) walk next week

I think its because some people see public workers as a soft target to vent thier own fustrations and figure that your reaction is going to be restrained through the fear of loosing your job.

Some just over react because they are having a bad day themselves. Ive had it many times over the years

They pick the wrong target when they pick to vent at me! I don't bite my tongue for nobody! I don't swear or get abusive but always give as good as i get, and give a cheeky wave when they have had enough of their insults/opinions getting ripped to shreds "Bye, bye...knobhead" (under my breath, of course!)

Thanks for the link, but you need to register to the site to see the answers, and on principle, I say sod that. As for why the wasp versions of Phil Taylor, Jockey Wilson & Eric Bristow see fit to practice on me...well I'm buggered if I know - I never wear aftershave, and the deodorant I use is the same one I've been using for the last 5 or so years, ditto shower gel.
