Mega heavy, total exhaustion with heat.

Went in on time after yesterdays farce. Went through door 15 mins early (to go to toilet, get a coffee etc) and sees theres a meeting on. 'Come on Dave, hurry up!' . I turned round and went back out for 15 mins. Don't they know what time their own employees start? Why have a meeting before the start time?

Went into shared garden to deliver to 8 maisonettes, didn't see dog until I posted last one and of course it went for me big time. Tried to kick it away and missed! Got outside gate and then this scruffy woman comes out. "Did you just try to kick my dog?!!!"
I said "Yes, do you think I was just going to let it bite me? Why don't you keep it in until after I've been?"
"Why should I? It's his garden!" (The dog must be the owner of all the maisonettes)
"Don't you want your mail delivered?"
"Well it's just debt letters so why should I"
At that point some scuffer came up the road and started shouting "You want to report him!"
I just laughed and said "Go on, report me."
She called me a GOYT and stormed off back inside.

Anybody know what a GOYT is?

The Goyt rises on the moors of Axe Edge, near the River Dane and the Cat and Fiddle Inn. The area is known as the Upper Goyt Valley. The river crosses the old Cat and Fiddle Road from Buxton to Macclesfield at Derbyshire Bridge, which was the old boundary between Derbyshire and Cheshire. Then it reaches an old packhorse bridge which was moved when Errwood reservoir was built in the 1960s. Further downstream there is another reservoir, the Fernilee reservoir. The original line of the Cromford and High Peak Railway can be seen near this point.

The Goyt then passes through Taxal and Horwich End where it is joined by the Todd Brook. Thereafter it passes through Whaley Bridge, New Mills (where it is joined by the River Sett) and Marple Bridge. Having been joined by the River Etherow, the Goyt joins the River Tame at Stockport, forming the River Mersey.

A tough day. Holiday is fully booked this week and then three off sick so full on absorbtion today with only 6 to a walk (so many get out of it now) .

Got out just a little later than normal but the heat soon hit It really slowed me up today and the 10 things to get signed for didn't really help.

The 35 min absorbtion at the end just seemed too much and i even had a really good bit, not as hard as some. Got back to the office 13.45 feeling tired and very hot.

Home around 14.25 and had a wonderful cool bath, boy it felt good trouble was i got out nice and cool and then the tiredness really hit and a lay on the bed and dropped off for a snooze for an hour or so. Which didn't go down well with my better half (hates me sleeping in the day) as we had family round for BBQ and i should have been helping out. I made it up by doing all the tiding up etc.

Trouble is how do you get someone to understand that your doing twice the workload and twice the distance than i did when i started and i am twice the age as well
I recon 4.40 mins of walking in that heat today (27 deg C) would knock the stuffing out of anyone esp at the end of a fairly busy week.

Friday. Very busy with plenty of flats. Made worse by the fact that there were only about 6 on the IPS out of about 90. When I did get out it was absolutely roasting. Took 3hrs 45mins.
Very hot again today. Quiet day for packets. Took just over 3hrs. Absolutely knackered. Got home and had something to eat. Crashed on the bed for 3 hrs and would have been there longer but for the phone going. Really looking forward to the chaos of the new delivery method for the D2D or whatever they call em now.

Yeah i know and i am dreading it to be honest

On a bad day with lapsing i can hit 5 hours (normally at least once a week) so i know how hard it can be.

Lapsing today. Most unusual as I usually get it on Thursdays or Fridays. Not the heaviest of days. Got an hours docket. A lot cooler, even got caught in a shower on my way to the lapsing.

Monday and yesterday were ridiculous, yesterday I had 5 bundles for my whole walk (600 houses) and some had less that that - it was probably the easiest day i've had in the last few years, walk took me 1hr 35m. Today was busier but still quiet.

wish I worked in your office got hammer today, lots of mail plus virgin cable letters about 5 bundles of these and 1.5 packet bags finished 2.30 shattered.

Oh boy please stop torturing me with the description of how my job used to be 15 years ago. I feel depressed now. Your really lucky to have that workload and sadly I can remember those days far to well.

Very humid today with a few showers that dried as soon as they hit the pavement so it felt close and sticky (oh err). Ive got a really good audio book going so still enjoyed the 3hr 25 min walk lost in that. Mail was average for this time of year and the best bit was no lapsing.
