When I was a young lad we cut newspapers into squares and hung it in the outside bog - the only bog we had and we considered ourselves fortunate, a few streets away they shared an outhouse between three dwellings.

Talking to one of my drops this morning - a season ticket holder at Anfield - that he'll be getting a free copy of the Sun this week. He is going to go thermonuclear with RM if I drop one through his letterbox

Well you've no choice to deliver and he's no choice but to accept it - he's not the customer the Sun newspaper group is, he can then do what he likes with it. Actually don't think it's going to be as bad as people think - got back to DO at 12:20 today after finishing round and lapsing so still over an hour of RM's time to work. Used it wisely by prepping them. The DOM had them all locked in a secure area so had to ask for and sign for my 520. Folded them all and stacked them is 100's and it took 35-40 minutes, so still went home 30 mins early. June is a light month so take advantage of it before moaning - it's do-able. If you're framing them make sure you bash the spine side of your pile after folding them as this makes them twice as easy to slide in without catching at the back.
Plan is Weds tomorrow we'll finish about an hour before time and spend 20-25 mins throwing them all in the frame before going home. Deliver to all addresses with mail Thursday and the remainder Friday, numbering them if necessary. Simples - no stress, o/t or arguments. (And NO we don't come in early or run...)
What could possibly go wrong?

No I (we) don't - we are on a relatively easy round this week and it has been very light too. I suppose we could've been 'clowns' (i.e. buggered-off home today 80 minutes early) and then whinged like bitches Thursday morning that we haven't got time to prep/throw them off etc......
Jeeze, all I'm suggesting is that if circumstances allow MAKE IT HAPPEN and plan the bloody Sun out and not keep thinking of reasons why you should/will fail.

Yes you are correct that you have time to do it and its no problem, I doubt the other people complaining are in the same boat.

I'm sure many others have had an easy Tuesday and/or a quieter week. If you aren't in the same boat, we have an agreement so USE IT! Work your hours, if not ask for o/t.

Maybe not so easy with the regular d2d having to be completed Mon-Wed. I agree about working the hours tho, just cut off its pretty simple, I dont expect any extra payment for delivering these if its within duty time.

Again that's a moot point - I printed off TBT's link with the instruction to deliver the door-dustbins MTW only and showed my DOM (who had previously denied any such instruction) and he said 'Not aware of that document' and reconfirmed we can do the door-dustbins exactly the same as we usually do? WTF? If anything at least the Scum edition guarantees (if you throw 'em off at once like most of our office) that all you door-dustbins will be cleared before Saturday.

It is a D2D contract let the blame be with those who authorised it, If a customer comes out give out the said managers number let him/her take the flack!
