Well we could ask the oracle but he seems to be keeping his head down which would suggest there's something in the wind. It's always the same, the union has now gone into it's shell, nothing forthcoming, no updates and this is the Communications Workers Union. There has been no suggestion that there will be any other strike days only a secondary ballot and even that is on shaky ground.
i remember this period of silence the last time just before the bt2010 deal.,,,,,,we were all going on for ages about what might happen as there was no whispers, no rumours, nothing. and then,,,,,,out of the blue,... behold,,,,,,,,the deal of the century. jesus, me arse is starting to go now!!
At the same time as announcing a 24 hour strike, the CWU today has announced they will carry out a second ballot asking workers to support action less than strike action, to carry out a boycott of competitors' mail.
Dave Ward added: "On top of a strike, the union will seek a mandate from members to carry out the boycott of competitors' mail. In law, this needs a separate ballot and we will commence the procedures for this at the earliest opportunity. The boycott will be used to supplement strike action. Royal Mail needs to reach an agreement with us now and avoid the consequences of these two types of action from postal workers."
So possible ongoing strike action supplemented by a boycott of DSA (and an overtime ban) all in the run up to xmas?

Our union rep is as good as a mute, lost count of the number of people i've explained the situation about the phantom 300 to! Rep won't make the picket line either as he's doing a Royal Mail first aid course that day!!!!!!!!!!

They don't want to risk losing £300 incase RM force in the pay deal.
How can they FORCE in the pay deal ? ,they cannot give strike breakers £300 and not the strikers .Just say the union had said ok lads anybody that goes on strike we will give you £300 and the strike breakers nothing .The PO would have had the union for BRIBING its members now I don't see any difference the other way round ,so listen whats been said THERE IS NO £300 FOR ANYBODY .

In commencing these talks the company also agreed that the previously rejected offer was off the table (Double confirmation there is no £300)and they confirmed that they would make a new improved offer on the key aspects of the dispute.
At this stage no new offer has been forthcoming.
The Union will serve notice on the 28th October and the current situation is that the 24 hour strike on the 4th November will go ahead. The detailed start and finish times of the 24 hour strike will be published once the formal notice has been served on Monday.
Further information will be published in due course.

Formal notice?? how many formal notices does it take,we voted we won we strike simple as,strike date was put back now we hear there is to be another ballot,what the f**k is going on??????????

Maybe try the 15% pay rise bribe and the 3 year terms and conditions for three years some numpty's will go for it even though the clock is ticking. I will not buy that as a deal 7 years at least protections! Pay is irrelevant if you go to minimum wage in two years 6 months I say a long term deal will be a better deal for all.
