on basic rate tax so deduct 20% from the amount of bonus you get and don't forget it's paid pro-rata if you're part-time.

Income tax is payable at 20% on earnings between £12,500 and £50,000 per year. Anything under is 0%, anything over is 40%.
NIC's are payable at 12% on earnings between £166 and £962 per week. Anything under is 0%, anything over is 2%.
So my calculations say that most full timers getting the £200 Christmas bonus, should get around £136 after deductions.
It is not pensionable!
Managers' bonuses would obviously see similar percentage reductions for tax and NIC's.
