it's all good and well if your sorting frame 100% single call slots it becomes a nightmare when you have 2 or more calls per slot ... then you have no other option but to nest the d2dsPOSTMAN wrote:https://www.myroyalmail.com/news/2019/1 ... 0%99t-nest
Stack, don’t nest
Helping this General Election run smoothly - let’s deliver Door to Door items correctly
An election is coming. As the Universal Service provider, we have an obligation to deliver all election materials to every household in the UK.
It’s crucial these materials are delivered correctly. They must be placed separately, one on top of each other, through the door and not ‘nested’ – that is, placed inside each other.
If materials are found to be ‘nested’ it opens us up to criticism from political parties: they could argue we’ve been trying to hide or show political bias in how we deliver their campaign literature.
We’ve also got to consider our other Door to Door commercial customers: they don’t want to be associated with political views either way. By nesting them, you might inadvertently link that brand with those political views.
In this politically sensitive time, it is vital we provide our service to the highest standard and guarantee we are above reproach in the way we help this election run smoothly.
So, please remember: stack, don’t nest any Door to Door items.

I honestly love door to doors
I work with a part timer who starts bang on time every day as I do . Last week we had 4 , takes loads of time as the majority of the slots are two houses . 1200 houses on our duty so that’s 240 to prep per day ,usually takes me about 40 minutes. The outcome is after having our breaks and doing the job correctly ( doing van checks , using trolley , trying neighbours and not rushing round like idiots ) we invariably cut off .
The consequence is walking less miles and not getting stressed out .
So bring on D2D’s not forgetting all the election leaflets
Oh yea , I nest mine but don’t tell anyone

Yup, in regular RM grey boxes. It only stopped a few months back, towards the end of the summer (ish).wacko74 wrote:What do you mean, already stacked before they reached your D.O.?Dannybuca wrote:Ours used to get collated for us (into stacks, not nests obv) not so long ago. I would love to see the person who accepts the contracts deliver the bloody things. I had 6 last week and one of them was a local council magazineTrail wrote:I got my mail through today.

Brilliant! You couldn’t make this stuff up! Where’s the Dom? Where’s the coach? No leadership or guidance whatsoever, and in the bigger picture of things is this really such I big deal?Mr Rush wrote:New starts in the office this week spent Tuesday indoors putting D2D together. They were all nested.

For management it's likely a case of whatever gets it out the door, and some of the workplace coaches just seem to pass on bad habits. I don't think the timing of this bug push against nesting is coincidental - hardly anyone gives a toss if the Domino's leaflet is in the Iceland leaflet, but there are plenty of people affiliated with political parties who are going to make a massive issue out of their party's flyer being inside a pizza leaflet or, heaven forfend, another party's leaflet.robbertwhitton wrote:Brilliant! I don't bother nesting because it wastes time but at the end of the day they fall all over the floor when posted anyway.

My frame is 80% double slots and I've never had a problem with stacking 5-6-7 door to doors, what makes it impossible?Godric wrote:it's all good and well if your sorting frame 100% single call slots it becomes a nightmare when you have 2 or more calls per slot ... then you have no other option but to nest the d2dsPOSTMAN wrote:https://www.myroyalmail.com/news/2019/1 ... 0%99t-nest

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
