How long ago was this?
we switched to 'park and loop' (van share) in 2010. before that up until 2004 we had 2 deliveries. 1st and 2nd post.

Has anyone got any idea of what could potentially replace van-sharing?

No.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

One man one van doubling delivery ie taking both walks out but with a rotation system over 7 day weeks with every Tuesday off.

So you mean...if I were your walk buddie...instead of coming out with me.... you would have a week off while I do double the amount of work? Then following week I would have week off and you would to double the amount of daily work?

If so, that's madness.

What I can see them doing is decreasing the amount of vans by swapping every 5 vans for 2 transit sized vehicles. Wherever possible, re-instate the drop off boxes and have 4 'walkers' and 1 driver per van. Driver does all the parcels/specials/drop off bags plus an hour or so delivery.

Given the ever increasing number of parcels and the size of parcels, a van like what the UPS worker is using in this video?

No you would do another duty 35 hour week over 7 days rotating but the mail for walks A first day and C E B D F the others depends on the USO but the government will not oppose nor will the regulator interesting times for us all next year?
