Hey so you’re a mathematician. Drag it out 12 minutes more per day. Get even more. I don’t care how long it gets dragged out. But that’s whats happening.

Like the last reduction from 40 to 39, the further reduction to 38 will go un noticed or applied.
The same workload will be expected, lapsing will continue, absorption will continue and the good ol flexin with be thrown into posties faces. PDA actuals now in the mix, mayhem will continue, intimidation will continue, hallelujah to our Union for getting a deal that is uninforcable for the benefit of members. They have only enabled RM to continue as they have in recent years to con, intimidate, bully and harass the members. We needed a watertight enforceable deal but they have failed miserably, AGAIN!
And our own members will ensure it fails by not adhering to proper start times methods etc.
Royal Mail know this, any deal I suppose was doomed to failure thus ensuring the bullying culture will continue, they know how stupid and spineless the regular posties can be ! A simple fact, unfortunately.

Thats not correct the union have got a good deal its now up to us workers to start on time and take our paid breaks. The PDA will help us if our workload is to heavy, its no good crying about workload when the PDA is telling the managers we are not working our 39 soon to be 38 hours. The trouble is of our own making do the job as we are meant too = no or very little room for extra work or get in early miss breaks climb over fences walls no next door deliveries = extra work the choice is ours.

If you lose 30 Mins on Tuesday and Saturday then make sure you aren't being done over.

The maths is simple but awkward so I'll just give an example of a 5 day week on a 6 day rota with 36 mins off Tuesday and Saturday.

Week 1: Monday off - 72 minutes shorter week
Week 2: Tuesday off - 36 min shorter
Week 3: Wednesday - 72 min
Week 4: Thursday - 72 min
Week 5: Friday off - 72 min
Week 6: Saturday off - 36 min shorter

Total for the week = 4x72 + 2x36 = 360 minutes per 6 weeks or 1 hour per week average.

You omitted the part of my post referring to the actual actions of the posties !!
I went on to say more or less what you have said.
I am correct in saying that the Union failed in getting a water tight deal. Far Too many loose ends.
Workload problems remain unaddressed, the pendulum has been firmly swung in RMs favour again - as always !
A deal that was NOT open to interpretation, or should I say miss interpretation by scurrilous managers is what was required.

Therein lies the problem. Too complicated ! Not always fairly applied
What about PTs or floaters who never get a fair crack at any shorter days ? Many never get a chance of a clear long weekend offf. Lieu days ? Sickness ?

This is where we are. The union should enforce posties being paid extended if we go over duty time. Instead we are just left flying in the wind.

RM afaik haven't factored in the sequencing of mail, for each hour reduction in the working day, you effecivbly loose 2hrs, as the main person on a CSS and the one that takes over from them after 2hrs will both be starting later, cutting down on the time available and therefore less mail is able to be sequenced on wave 1

As long as we all understand PDA data can be used against us if we lie about our whereabouts and any serious events. After Christmas we will see managers under pressure to make cuts using the Data that has been collected over the last year, the hour off our week will help us protect to some degree but from what i am told my office is as much as 50 hours a week under so we could lose a duty and thats a shame as i would say most of the time is due to early start no break posties.
