Yes had the identical propaganda delivered to my PDA. TBH I initially thought it was items that had not clearedJKSmudge wrote:Got a message on PDA today about Industrial action being welcomed by the competition as companies are planning now for Black Friday & Xmas deliveries..blah....blah
IMHO The effect of these memo items is likely to have the exact opposite of what RM are trying to achieve.

What a load of propaganda rubbish that was this morning!
RM wanting to ditch "legacy payments" for what will no doubt be a single token gesture lump sum is laughable. Those of us that have been employed since before ~January 2010 receive ~£500 pro rata per year (before Income Tax) from "ICS Supplement" alone, on the first Friday of each new month. Weren't these "legacy payments" originally put in place as bargaining chips for changes in the past that us long serving OPGs have had to endure?
Not sure if it was the PDA propaganda or the rain, but our "high tech" PDAs were an absolute nightmare today, had to reset them so many times!

We watched RMTV and where given a Courier news flash claim/fact sheet. DOM simply told us what we'd already heard on RMTV but specifically said it didn't want to give his opinion on the video and that it was "up to us" what we voted. We also have a number of messages on the PDAs today about how potential strike action. Quote from one message below.
"Industrial action is the real race to the bottom. Competitors delighted there may be a strike. They benefit we lose. Now - right now - is when big companies think about their delivery provider for Black Friday and Christmas. Can't afford to give them a reason to say NO to Royal Mail. Best company. Best jobs. Let's keep it that way."

we were all taken down for the RMtv propaganda show this morning. someone must've know what crap we were going to be fed so ''conveniently the remote for the telly had ''walked''. the DOM didn't bust his guts trying to find it either. so that was the end of that. happy days

We got shown the video, more bs from that smarmy presenter telling us not to strike, not much from DOM though except the usual doom mongering crap about letters being down and parcels not making up for it. DOM going to a conference regarding the changes on Thursday.

its all kinda pointless anyway, RM is doomed to fail long term by a regulator thats cutting this business to the bone and mainly at RMs (and inevitably our) expense. By owning our own mail through the entire system and not having to do the final mile for other companies alone would probably have this company back on track. BTW through all the changes from regulation all we`ve seen is a poorer service, later deliveries with people not in to recieve their parcels, prices havent really gone down.... whos the real winner ? the other companies that came into the market offering terrible t&c to its workers. Stinks of something fishy going on with deals somewhere.

All this talk of losing your jobs if we strike - at least there's some comfort in the knowledge that the thousands of "non jobs" they've created over the last couple of years with fancy job titles and massive pay and benefits will be gone as well so the bloodsuckers who took them will be on the scrap heap as well. Also these other courier companies can't cope at Christmas normally so how are they ever gonna cope with all our work as well.

Our Dom, asked us if we wanted to see a propaganda video by the company, we laughed and said no, so we had a 15 minute chat about how we are all getting shafted on our pensions, Dom included. How the worms are turning
