Re: Black Friday ready for next week???
I don't think so - it merely brings forward the purchases many customers would make anyway and clears stock earlier in the month to allow retailers some breathing space and an easier evaluation on which to plan the post-xmas sales.pants123 wrote:The whole thing american black friday..really did its job.... thats why they have brought it to britain... mades millions for the big companies...

Re: Black Friday ready for next week???
For us as posties, I think Black Friday has brought peak "Xmas pressure" parcel workload earlier in December, taking some workload pressure off delivery towards Xmas Eve. Get ready for the build up of undelivered yorks of parcels this coming week!
I'm shocked that this coming week was a week OPGs could take as annual leave, cannot see this being allowed in future, the week following Black Friday will be another non-bookable week in future I reckon.

Re: Black Friday ready for next week???
I don't think it will be bad as we can get christmas presents cheaper and deliver it earlier and hopefully it will be quieter in a fortnight time. It will be interesting to see how much increase for delivery. Amazon have a system so if you ordered say 4 blu rays released on same day or bought it on same day on 4 different orders it merge into one parcels.

9 off in our office. Some have been taken off duty and put on nights doing MC work, we have one packet driver who is on light duties and have a collapsing plan for all this week.interesting wrote:We are allowed leave next week , but only two postman
Wednesday onwards is going to be hilarious because it's plainly obvious that packets are going to be a nightmare - obvious for everyone except RM management it seems.

Re: Black Friday ready for next week???
What a surprise, we cut off today and returned around 30 packets to the office. It was our normal managers day off, when I told the relief manager we wouldn't be completing he said 'what about your lapsing' . It would have been funny had he not been serious.OnAFlyer wrote:9 off in our office.
