This is correct. Of course, you can never get through to our office so I would try and insist that the manager rings YOU. It puts pressure on managers telling staff to ring up if they cannot finish. Its the managers responsibility to ensure USO not yours, and by doing this, although its designed to put pressure on you to deliver all the mail, it can often backfire to a manager later on when he has to try and get the rest of your delivery covered when everyone has left the office.
They should trust the postman/postwomen as they know the rounds better than anyone. But they try and do everything they can to get the posties to deliver the mail before they have left the office.
