its a speaker behind the panel/cubby hole below the stereo.
If you brace your fingers against the inside of it & give it a good tug the cubby hole will pop out.
Then you can see the speaker on the right hand side at the back.
I wouldn't cut the speaker cable that runs into the back of the speaker :no no as that would be naughty.

Because it wouldn't throw any error codes or cause any problems cutting that cable :whistle .

The cable with the fuse holder is the PDA charger so deffinately leave that allown.

This function has its own speaker and doesn't broadcast via the ICE, so the answer is easy....disconnect the speaker. :silenced Trouble is if you do that then you will invalidate the vehicle warranty and if caught likely to fast trak you to some sort of disciplinery action. Similarly if you happen to hit something, or hurt somebody, because the handbrake wasn't applied correctly and the handbrake warning function had been tampered with then heads are likely to roll.

We have one of these vans and whilst it is annoying to the nth degree, messing with it without the propper authority/permission might cost you your job....is it really worth that?

The real answer and is beyond the scope of Royal Mail, the RTW's and would cost a fortune if undertaken by a Peugeot main dealer, The warning message is activated by the door courtesy light switch circuit....it should be linked to the handbrake wrning light circuit and either coupled with a timer or linked to the driver's door through a secondary circuit. This way the warning only sounds if the driver's door is opened when the vehicle is stationary and the handbrake NOT applied. :arrrghhh

Last suggestion...have the voice processer re-programmed to perhaps a George Clooney voice for the lady drivers and Susan Boyle for the blokes???

Thanks for your email to Moya’s JustSayIt about the handbrake warning alarm.

As you are probably aware we have had a number of incidents where out vans have been involved in roll-aways which have in some instances resulted in life changing /fatalities. In order to try and reduce the occurrence of these incidents we have used a number of different channels to communicate materials which have been developed regarding the correct operation of handbrakes when parking the vehicle including leaving the vehicle in gear and pointing the tyres into the kerb.

The addition of the handbrake audible warning was a technological intervention that has been trialled and implemented. We trialled the system that has been installed in a number of delivery offices and gathered feedback from the drivers. The feedback was mainly positive from the drivers, however acting on the feedback we made a number of changes to the initial set up-

· reduced the number of times the warning was played on opening the door

· reduced the volume

We also looked at other ways of fitting the system to activate with the warning light on the dash when the handbrake is applied but this has issues, i.e.

· the light goes off with the ignition on our vehicles and therefore the ignition could be switched off avoiding the warning or before the handbrake is / isn’t applied

· the fact that even if the light is on this does not mean the handbrake is at the end of it’s travel and engaged, thus has the potential to mislead the driver

· there are also technical issues within the wiring systems that restrict how we can make the system work

We have now explored several options with Peugeot and are pushing for a random warning system through the door switch to reduce the number of times the warning is triggered with the system manufacturers.

Someone told me there was a way to stop it, I think he said you had to use the key somewhere the same way you can enable/disable airbags. He switched it off while using the van for a week but I never asked him how, so there is a way.

I also left the lights on overnight once because there's no beep when you get out (or like on the Bippers how they just switch off when the van is locked), yet they made sure to include a handbrake warning that you'd phase out after hearing it the first 20 times anyway.
