We are going to get screwed again with a worse deal than what's on the table now. There's no way on earth the CWU are going to do any better than this, my wife is a teacher and has had a 1% pay rise in the last 4 years.

Average pay rises are running at around 2.5% so what's on offer financially is...average.
It's not a fortune,it's 8.6% over 3 years,that's only about 0.5% per year better than BT2010 and the company is allegedly on a far better financial footing than it was in 2010.

Only the first year is guaranteed.

**Base pay increases in years two and three will be subject to review if inflation is below 2.3% or above 3.3%.

If we have a new employer by then and inflation is below 2.3% as it is predicted to be we could end up with much lessp
The strings tied to accepting the pension reforms and the future "strategy" which nobody even knows are horrendous.
The lump sum bribe with no industrial action is purely to allow privatisation through without a fight.
The whole deal is mutton dressed as lamb flyer,don't be fooled by the pound signs.

to right fishtank they've used the old lump sums again to temp people , just get em to ask them in delivery about lump sums for p&l which we still haven't received yet. but no mention of that.

You might be right - but is it clear and why should we accept an offer that can't even make this as clear as possible - all they had to do was add either "extra" or "total of" to the offer and it clear it up completely. If they can't communicate such a simple point can we trust the rest of the offer, and if we could why should we tie our hands with a no strike deal.

I have just re read the the Royal Mail offer and to me the higher will be paid and the cwu wording seems to confuse the issue. Maybe I am wrong but that's how I read it

As I can read it.
The £300 would have been on top of the original £100 incentive bonus and for some functions the £100 Christmas bonus.
Any back pay would have been paid when the deal was agreed.
I'm 90% sure that's the deal but as teebs points out it isn't clear.
It's immaterial anyway as the deal has been rejected.

I always thought being a Union it was a Union of all members together and decisions being made as a Majority.

Some people may think this is a good deal and wish to take it up (Not that i do)
But wouldnt it be nice to be given the option.

What im really getting at is i thought the D2D Deal they agreed on everyones behalf was a totally s**t deal and it still pisses me off i never got a chance to have my say on that

Are pay rises in the public sector averaging 2.5%?

Pay increases were linked to inflation targets in 2010, we got all the rises as set out in the agreement.

Pension reforms are happening, it doesn't matter what we or the CWU try and do. I don't like it any more than you but realistically it's going to happen.

I don't care what RM's strategy is, I get paid for 39hrs per week and that's what they'll get. FT staff and other T&C's remain the same, what happens after privatisation nobody can guarantee.

I'm not fooled by anything, my only interest is to get my basic pay as high as possible, theres as much of a guarantee of protecting FT jobs there as we are going to get. Workloads don't bother me, I work 39hrs regardless of how much is asked, which is why I'm baffled when people keep going on about unmanageable workloads. Just grow a backbone and finish on time.

The CWU are asking the impossible and are going to f*ck this one up again, just as with every agreement since the way forward.

Don't worry, the CWU know what's best for you. £14 a week for unlimited D2D, overtime paid at lower rates than basic pay then a few years later wanting it changed back as part of another agreement. Fat chance.
