We've got a spy in our office. After my gate meeting on Monday, the lech ran in the office and blabbed all to the gaffer. I covered my arse by telling everyone, if the gaffer asked tell him you're taking 10mins of your meal relief. Gaffer never said a bean.
This fella (scab) is open about the fact he's working the strikes. He reckons that anyone who slags him off for working will go down the conduct code.
My reply was he ain't a manager and he hasn't got the authority to take anyone down the code. He ran away with his tail between his legs.
If you spy enough info, he'll use it to shoot himself in the foot. Or, ignore the twat, cos he'll get wound up and snap. I see a grievence coming

Has anyone had confirmation of RM insurance for private car?

Has everyone who currently uses their cars had confirmation of RMs insurance to cover them? :hmmmm
It's very easy for them to say that they will provide cover, but what happens if you are in an accident? :hmmmm :nervous

I used to work for a company, some time ago, which made similar claims. We found out the hard way, that they had done nothing of the kind.  :d'oh! One of my collegues got pulled for speeding, and it turned out that the company hadn't covered her. :nervous Which meant that she was done for having no Insurance, as well as speeding (her insurance provided only SDP use)!

I wouldn't use your own vehicle, unless you get written confirmation that you ARE covered by RMs Insurance, or you take out your own Business Insurance. It's 6 points for no Insurance, and if you are in an accident, YOU would be liable for the WHOLE cost of any claim.

For all I know, you might have had this confirmation. If so, I'm sorry to have wasted your time. But I got worried when Montana Banana suggested that RM was claiming to insure private vehicles for deliveries.

Our line manager told me this morning if people don't sign a piece of paper saying that they'll use their cars, they won't be able to use them again. I told him GOOD, get me the equipment to do the job, like we were promised for SDD instead of making lazy threats.
We've been doing the job right since Monday, well about 90%. Another 7-8% will start from next Monday. We've got a couple of clowns who will always use their cars. These people are racing round, coming back to the office and covering the collections the drivers can't do on their duty on overtime. :d'oh!

Letter regarding cars on delivery

Post by wdo1256 »

My office started a WTR this week and I was given the letter stating that as punishment for not using our cars we will never be allowed to use our cars again.

Once again Royal Mail Flexiable policy comes to light

You cannot use your car every again
You will come in 25mins later next week
You can cover walks with out any overtime being paid
You can start late when we tell you (forget prior arrangments)
You are not allowed to know how much profit the company made last year
You will get a second rate pension
You will get nothing for delivering D2D items

Royal Mail just dictates again and again. WTR is the only way to maximize the backlof caused by going out on strike.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow
