Either Rm will force me out or I will have found a better job. I used to love this job and even after accepting that I had to do more work in the same time, and doing my best to finish every day, I have come to realise we are being run by money grabbing parasites who don't give a t*ss how many of us workers end up on the breadline. As long as Mr Leighton can make several millions in bonus he does'nt care how many of us have our lives ruined, same for Crozier.
I hope Gordon brown can sleep at night knowing that house repossesions are rising and it's his fault and also what is happening to RM could be prevented, the fact it is'nt is also this so called labour governments fault.
Says it all mate. It's beyond belief that a Labour govt is letting two mercenaries have a chance to add "Union Breaker" to their C.V.'s (on public money!!) to ensure they have even more lucrative employment once the UK postal service has died.

Mr Brown - please note with those two muppets in charge, what was once the World's best postal service bar none and the countries largest company pension scheme are about to go tits up on your watch. And a lot of your natural supporters are going to lose out. Deal with it or face the electoral consequences. In the 29 years I've been eligible to vote I've supported Labour in every national and local election. Sort this out fast Gordon or my political levy goes and my vote - and I won't be alone.

Where I am deliveries only get done by the goodwill of the staff being prepared to book extended delivery. Staff are now that fed up and exhausted, they are withdrawing that good will and seem keen not to bother working overtime at Christmas. It's not worth the effort. People would rather be on strike without pay than in work with pay such is the contempt the current managerial regime causes. Being consciencious is pointless.

Strike until we win.

I for one don't really fancy bein a walk postman for the rest of my days. This job is pretty piss nowadays, but on the flip side, RM is not too bad a company to work for (in the bigger picture). I am 33 now, and I cant see myself doin this for the next 30 years. Management looks a bit iffy just now, but in the future I may give it a bash.

What do us comrades hope for in the future in this company?
I'm just hoping to get the pension I was promised 27 years ago, which I've paid for - including 17 years of additional payments which I was told would entitle me to a full pension at 60.

If you want to take the management route good luck to you. Hope you can take the backstabbing from your fellow managers and are prepared to be an asskissing backstabber yourself - you will have to be to survive.

But don't forget RM plans to make a lot of the managers into 'teamleaders', so you may well end up back in uniform, delivering the post, as well as 'encouraging' your former mates to do more and more every year, for a few quid extra.
