I personally believe that if your in a mail centre , RDCS , VOC or Coolection Hub and you duty finishes at 20:00 , 21:00 or 22:00 then your should recieve an allowance for working in the same way as those who work nights do.

I don't see why. Those duty times are not in any way disruptive to sleep patterns like working nights is. Early starts of 4-6am are far more disruptive than 8-10pm finishes and we get nothing for those.

Thats a new one on me ? I am a collections driver and i don't get any extra !.

You should be receiving either £8.39 the collection functional supplement or if you do an element of delivery Work you may be recieving the delivery supplement. However you should be recieving one or the other. if your not contact your rep.

Fish currently there is a delivery supplement of £21.62 , a processing supplement of £ 8.39 , a collection supplement of £8.39 , an MDEC supplement , an RDC supplement , a walk bundling centre suppllement and an HWDC supplement.

There are 7 different shift allowances and ex PHGs recieve a higher shift allowance , there is split attendance allowance which has two different amounts depending on how many hours you work , there are TPM payments , postbus allowances , leadership allowance , there is a rural waiting allowance , a supplement for ex PHGs, am HWDC flexible allowance , there is the reserved rights allowance for drivers , a training allowance , weekend MGV allowance , a coaching allowance ,an additonal pensionable payment for Sunday conditioned allowance ,an higher bank holiday payemen for conditioned hours.

On top of all this there is the time bonus which some mail centres have , equally there are the ex ICS and PBS schemes which either pay a weekly or monthly payement. The amount in some units is a much as £140 per month but in some as little as £20 per month.

I cannot See any union wanting to unravel the above and attempt to create another way forward.

Well I too think that not any union would want to unravel that mish mash of supplements and allowances - what I think is that the union who created such a ridiculous state of affairs should unravel it. Is it any wonder that people feel disenfranchised when there is such a division within the union itself created by the union. This has come about by taking various groups and setting them above others by creating different pay scales where they are totally unnecessary. Lets face it on the last debacle it didn't take long to do away with the ESAs - they easily managed to unravel that, so it can be done if there is a will to do it.

hi i asked a question in the noobie section and just thought would be okay to ask it again here as talking about d2d pay:

1. I got a pay rise after 6 months (nice surprise) and have just been looking into possible transfer within RM to another DO and have seen in some other OPG job descriptions that you get a rise after 6months AND 12 months? If so, does anyone know what the pay rate (outside London) is after 12? Have been searching but not been able to find Anyone able to advise/link me please? Also is this the final pay rise?

So a collections driver working in a delivery office should not get delivery supplement if there is no delivery in their duty?

There is a good letter regarding D2D's and the problems they cause in this months Courier, sadly the response was just typical corporate clap trap and didn't offer any kind of answer to the issues raised. Been lovely this week, we got hardly any at all, I had just the one... bliss! Sure will be back to the usual 4 or 5 next week!
