Yep - another manager who is going to take as much advantage of a new starter as possible. DONT use your own car - ever. Did you sort the 7am start thing out?AJ1987 wrote:Put alot of pressure on me to use my own car to do the round but luckily enough the guy who im shadowing is the union rep and he told he that i didnt want to use it. The DOM didnt seem best pleased, can't help wondering if this is going to hurt my chances of being kept on.

Re: Starting tomorrow
I start at 7.30 and work until 1. Works out better for me because its more hours although I am actually only.signed to a 24 hour contract. The guy who.was previously on the round used his.own car so I think they assumed.I.would. it was beneficial to him tho apparentlySime83 wrote:Yep - another manager who is going to take as much advantage of a new starter as possible. I bet your holiday pay and sickness is only based on your original contract. But as Ive said many times this should be based on an averaGE OVER 12 WEEKS.
Do not use a car

Will they pay for petrol and wear and tear?
Will they bollocks!
It's upto them to get you out there, if it means you can do less delivering, well, you do less delivering

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
