Re: Stealing stuff
The funny thing is I would quite happily leave a tenner on my frame and I know no-one would touch it... but any item of uniform or a new delivery pouch etc would be gone in 60 secs if I left it unattended.

Re: Stealing stuff
Lots of waterproofs go missing at my office all the time yet there seems to be loads of processing staff walking round with stormproofs on at my MC odd considering they can't order them when they are indoor staff

Re: Stealing stuff
My waterproof has never gone missing. I'm generally not in the habit of stealing other people's bags, but if I walk in and my bag has gone missing (I only keep one, and refill it from packet bags), I'm not averse to the idea. Presuming that management are unable to provide. In fact, quite common is the day when I'll ask for a bag, be told "there ain't none", then be invited to "borrow one" from somebody else's fitting.

I had to happen didn't it, someone comparing coming in early to stealing.DGP1 wrote:Because the people are selfish now, they don't see anything wrong with taking something that isin't theirs, just like they don't care what damage is caused by coming in early.......or using their own cars............or cutting corners etc.silly suffolk wrote:blokes used to leave their wage packets on their frames and knew no one would touch them. i saw this. would anyone dare do this now? people in general have changed im afraid.
I don't know why the police can't catch serial killers and rapists, all they need to do is check the DNA of all the posties that go into work early or use their own car.

that would be a proper sackable offenceRed Robbo wrote:Well the latest trick now is to look what uniform is arriving in the office and open the plastic bag and take it from there, so now when the uniforms arrive its all taken to the Prio Locker to stop the pilfering.

Yep, same here with uniform orders. My manager had to hide my Doc Martens when they came in, which was uncharacteristically helpful of him.Red Robbo wrote:Well the latest trick now is to look what uniform is arriving in the office and open the plastic bag and take it from there, so now when the uniforms arrive its all taken to the Prio Locker to stop the pilfering.
I have to admit I've stolen equipment from colleagues, but seeing as they'd all dumped their LWTs on day one of the revision I didn't think they'd mind (I'm the only one in the office using a trolley).
The machine stops.

Re: Stealing stuff
It's all to do with attitude, do you think it's fine to take someone elses property, because they can't really take stuff unless they come in early or come back to the office early.OnAFlyer wrote:I had to happen didn't it, someone comparing coming in early to stealing.DGP1 wrote:Because the people are selfish now, they don't see anything wrong with taking something that isin't theirs, just like they don't care what damage is caused by coming in early.......or using their own cars............or cutting corners etc.silly suffolk wrote:blokes used to leave their wage packets on their frames and knew no one would touch them. i saw this. would anyone dare do this now? people in general have changed im afraid.![]()

You've probably never been in a barrack room or you'd realise they are kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Of course this is a forum and nothing to do with a barrack room and probably the name fits.silly suffolk wrote:id really like to send my daughter to work with someone like you. your not in some shitty barrack room nowdvbuk55 wrote:How banal.silly suffolk wrote:how p c.dvbuk55 wrote:Bugger! i didn't mean the cleanliness, i meant the intellect, misogynistic attitude, and arrogance of a small % of ex squaddies ive had the misfortune to work with over the years.dvbuk55 wrote:You've probably never been in a barrack room or you'd realise they are kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Not the initial impression you gave silly but thanks for your input, much valued especially from someone who has obviously led a sheltered life outside the cloistered barrack rooms.silly suffolk wrote:i didn't mean the cleanliness, i meant the intellect, misogynistic attitude, and arrogance of a small % of ex squaddies ive had the misfortune to work with over the years.dvbuk55 wrote:You've probably never been in a barrack room or you'd realise they are kept to a very high standard of cleanliness.
