Well no it isn't, the delivery method is what it is, it isn't an either or situation cyrus.
You've got me wrong DVDBUK55 Who decides what the delivery method is? The corrupt planner who marks"pouch" for most of your loops (because they know trolleys slow you down) Then they mark down a token "LWT" for a high rise flat.Or the postman that ignores the recommended method ;). I meant, It's up to you to use the "LWT" as much a possible.Even if that means the postman re plans the whole duty to accommodate it.
Your rep should be taking a look at that. The agreement was weight off the shoulder and trolleys should be used whenever practicable. If pouches are still being used that is wrong - the new plan indicated that each loop should be 40 minutes therefore using pouches would indicate that either there are too many loops with reduced bag weights or the bags are overweight.
The Rep is aware, he goes around telling everyone to use trolley as much a possible, it's a delivery method revision- weight of shoulder etc.Do the posties listen??? Some do, The one's that read RM chat certainly do.But others just see the LWT as something to slow you down. :arrrghhh

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

has anybody actually got through the revision with a good result at the end. Cause it sounds like everyone is in the same boat 'dutys too big not enough time to sort prep take break etc. We are in the 8th week of revision and its a nightmare got tested by managers duty took over 5 hours planners werent happy so They waited till a quiet day and tested us again it took 4 30 on a day with hardly any mail. Planners wont admit the dutys are to big . Now there saying if we can get you out on time then it can be done but its still not 4.15 so its ok for them to not do there job but if i sort ten seconds to slow im the problem. Where will this madness end if ever.either They Have messed up or we all overnight Have lost the ability to do the job we Have all done for years

That's with less than a third of DOs having undergone revision and RM and the CWU still hammering out the small print.............plus of course the new initiatives like flow through and WCM...................too many talkers and planners who don't know tit from s**t............they need to get off their arses and DO something instead of just chattering about it.

It depends what you call a good result.
We have more staff,a higher FT/PT ratio and better attendance patterns for everybody including part-time and reserves.
We also have trolleys to carry the mail around so we don't have to any more.
Our revision was not perfect but i would say it was more of a disaster for Royal Mail because it cost a fortune and for the flyers because increasing the workload to ridiculous levels is only really a problem if you're stupid enough to keep chasing the early finish.
I don't have a problem with park&loop as a theory but the way it was and still is implemented is pathetic,in most cases three of the four points of input, the planners, the managers and unfortunately the reps just don't know enough about what they are doing.
In a lot of cases the fourth and most important point of input...the members...were ignored.
With the reps it's partly understandable, there is far too much science involved and the support and training that was promised at Branch level never materialised in a lot of cases.
Managers and planners....too arrogant to appreciate their own limitations but then that's always been their major failing.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
