I think RM know they've pushed near enough as far as they can with regards to the delivery side. IMO these price rises are good news for us, surely coupled with the DSA price rises it's going to push RM well into profit and that means less pressure to cut every penny.

There's no going back to the 'good old days', but let's be honest when RM were making big profits the job was a piece of p*ss for us. If RM had been loss making back then we'd have been pushed into more work just as we have been over the last few years.

RM will not make massive profits directly from the rise in stamped mail prices, stamped mail is too small a percentage of what we deliver to make any significant difference.
The real reason for the increase in first and second class is to allow room for future increases in all other business streams including DSA.
After all you can't really charge 30p an item for DSA when your stamp prices aren't much higher.
These huge increases give them scope to leave stamped alone apart from inflation for a couple of years but still nudge the other streams up to make some real money.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

One suggestion - get ALL Government Departments to STOP USING DSA ...
"We're under model" - oh no we're not - stick your lapse elsewhere ...
