Apparently bullying is back on the agenda again - this time with 10 minute video, which I haven't had the pleasure of yet. Anybody else seen it?

Also there's a young 24hr lad who's dad has been goin through bowl cancer which must be hard enough for the lad but everyday whenever this bully walks past him says "Have you got any candy?" then says to whomever is around at the time that he will get them candy  making out that the young lad is a drug dealer. Surely this is defamation of character and must be distressing for him.

This needs stopping !!!!!! A bully will always choose the weak link, they are often too frightened to do something themselves, that's when people like us need to step in, and it seems to me (I'm sorry to put this on you) but you are going have to do something about it and right away. Once the bully and the manager are under investigation others will come in and help but he has to be stopped before too much damage is done..........

If someone puts in a B & H complaint, they have to jump through the right hoops to get anywhere. Has the victim asked the bully to `stop doing that because your upsetting me` - thats the first stupid thing managment (and the bullys union rep) will point out to stop the complaint in its tracks. Another is if the victim tells the bully to f off before putting the B & H complaint in - the bully will make a counter complaint that the victim swore at him and turn the victim into the accused.
Thats why I suggested making it a H & S complaint instead. Send the complaint in and the balls in managments court.

I've seen it - apparently RM's latest solution showing a 10 minute video containing some of the worst/hammiest acting and dialogue you'll ever see and then having your line manager explain that "Enough" is now a buzz-word which will stop bullies in their tracks.

A safety rep whilst acting in his or her funtionary role in confidence after having been approached by an individual who has made a complaint of bullying against them by another individual, does not mean that a formal complaint will automatically be made. The safety rep will only do what the individual making the complaint wants them to do and hopefully will give the individual the advice and support they need. They will want to have the bullying stopped quietly and quickly and can go with the individual to speak to the bully, or see them on their behalf. They safety rep will also help the individual with a formal complaint, if it goes that far, giving advice and support throughout the procedure.

Straight to the Area CWU rep and Sector manager with your complaint. Also the B&H hotline. You don't need to be bullied personally. And how the hell can he receive thousands of pounds from the Managers bonus? I've heard nothing of the sort in my life in Royal Mail?????? I think that's utter garbage and an office rumour. Owes hundreds to an office kitty? What is an office kitty? You mean petty cash? If so IB should be called in to investigate this.

The H & S complaint goes in writing straight to the DOM, not a safety rep who is more interested in not rocking the boat. The complaint is against the bully AND also managment for ignoring bullying.
Complaining to a safety rep is a waste of time - In your words - `The safety rep will only do what the victim wants them to do` + `They will have the bullying stopped quietly` - Why quietly ?? The victims want the bully sorted out/sacked. Union reps in the same office are more likely to try and smooth thing over, ie get the bully of the hook.

A very important thread has gone quiet :hmmmm :hmmmm
I do hope this matter has been resolved i.e the bully boy identified and taken down the proper channels....... Please let me be wrong in wondering if when asked to stand up on the behalf of the individuals being subjected to the bullying that the thread starter hasn't gone AWOL like so many individuals do :cuppa ......

I stuck in a b and h complaint a gd while ago reg bullying. Got a call back saying most of the bullying was more than three months ago and as there were normally no witnesses about that they can't go forward with it at this time.
