Maybe you're right NLD. Perhaps it isn't just RM that need to be reminded who it is that does the work on the one hand and pays the unions bills on the other.north london driver wrote:if when we find out there is no wage increase for next year and royal mail break
the agreement again then it is time for the staff to go unoffical forget the union at
headquaters they will waste time in talking till december.then offer us another deal
with 300 pages to read and tell us its the best offer.
i know staff will be told if you walk into unoffical action know one will back us but it
is time our union and management start to understand and listern to the royal mail workforce
if no pay increase then no more talks on revisions also all areas should now bring in overtime
bans, with any talks about xmas to end and a work to rule must be in by the end of november.
it could be just to see how far they can push us over the paydeal but there are
plenty of staff on the brink of going over the top now.

Its a strange world but what if Royal Mail wanted to tie the union down to a longer pay deal ?
Now in terms next years deal , well a lot will depend on what the EU does and whether Royal Mail is under adminstation or still a free standing company.
Lots of question marks over everything at the moment.

Is this the pre-cursor speech to the disappointment ahead I wonder. Strange how the pay deal was lauded at the time of the deal and now so many things hang in the air - perhaps a lesson to be learned from having pay deals well in advance of unknown circumstances. A longer pay deal smacks of Jam Tomorrow...............yet again.dingo wrote:Its a strange world but what if Royal Mail wanted to tie the union down to a longer pay deal ?

The Union should get the feeling of the members in that case, and I don't mean polling full time reps to see if they can get support to back their position, but to actually talk to ordinary members.dingo wrote:Its a strange world but what if Royal Mail wanted to tie the union down to a longer pay deal ?

You surely can't mean a full consultation - I thought they'd just had one!TrueBlueTerrier wrote:The Union should get the feeling of the members in that case, and I don't mean polling full time reps to see if they can get support to back their position, but to actually talk to ordinary members.dingo wrote:Its a strange world but what if Royal Mail wanted to tie the union down to a longer pay deal ?
