In my area it's stage 1, stage 2 then your sacked pending appeal no matter what doctor/hospital cover you have!!
Is this happening anywhere else??

Had an opg on stage 3 got let off before the strikes.
same opg on stage 3 again during the strikes but was a scab!
got let off again!! up to a stage 5 by now!!
I hope the DOM's decision was'nt influenced in any way?
Time will tell watch this space.

- Doesn't surprise me in the least , strike breakers being looked after or promoted, seen it so often with the RMT . Sounds if there's pressure from upon high to introduce the new attendance procedure by stealth , RM wanted it trialed but they lost ballots on it and team working in Distribution . RM would argue it takes too long with the present procedure to get rid of people and think everyone is playing the system, some do ! so they'll try fast tracking . In Central Lancs Distribution, there was pressure from high to start phoning people up and sending "letters of support " long before anything was agreed locally or nationally with 2004's " Our New Approach to absence", Hayes got unofficial IA stopped but it encouraged RM to take Executive Action with a IA suspension. . There was a Leighton clone as MCM who terrified all the old hands . This smacks of Leighton's bullish we won't be dictated to by that union and RM Senior Mgt. Obviously there's going to be some ETs with that attitude but there's a danger they'll turn into test cases . :lfo :lfo :lfo Royal Mail used to get ATOS Origin's hack doctors to do thier dirty work and make things "look straight" but now it's any excuse not to pay out and get rid. Sorry for the rant, but this subject really grates as RM are so underhand , it stinks ! , RM did threaten to illegally discount DDA cases , so ETs are the only option. Didn't RM threaten league tables ? for absence/ conduct code?
