Where is the protection for those trying to do the job properly though.
They are being targeted by dickhead managers who are being pressurised by DSM's who are being hassled by Regional Directors who take their orders from the very people sitting across the table from.....Dave&Bob.
What to do Dave&Bob....What to do indeed?

Well a start might be a members wide consultation as to which direction WE would like them to go.............bet it's not the same as they would like to go.fishtank wrote:Where is the protection for those trying to do the job properly though.

As for doing the job properly, we have a lad who is admittedly not the quickest, he chose a P&L duty and has over 20 years service, because he could not complete the duty he has been moved to an HCT duty, he is only part time and feels unable to complain because he has been told he wasn't up to speed........how many scenarios like that are repeated across the land I wonder

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Actually I pulled you and it was for "you morons" meaning members on here. If you had said just "morons" like Postman said "muppets" then I wold not have pulled you. Its a grey area I grant you but if you generalise rather than specify I am less likely to pull you.DaveF14 wrote:You pull me up for saying morons and your here calling everyone muppets. Re: yet again our own worst enemies
Can anyone tell me or all who is interested if there is any office who has this new way of working running right and if there is does your office/s follow any of the set down work practices that have been put into place (ie,new equipment) or does all do as they please. I just wonder as sooner or rather later my office is going to have this pile of unworkable rubbish put in if i stop finding fault with the planners work and would like to know what you have all had to put up with.

Re: yet again our own worst enemies
We had an office that went in first in our area and was lauded as a great success, no rep involved, managers only, and it was used as a best approach/best practice yard stick.
We couldnt work out why, when using the same stick it wasnt working in ours. At this point im guessing you've guesed the end already, but.
It turns out it wasnt working, but in true emporers clothes style nobody was willing to tell the DSM. Every effort was used to cover this up, and on paper the whole thing rocked.
Does that count?

Re: yet again our own worst enemies
It sounds like the same stunt they have pulled in the offices here i sat in some bulls**t meeting last week where some DSM was spouting that the offices are doing just dandy yet when i went to see someone i then found out the truth like you say emperors new clothing it just really gets my goat when these people are to stupid to be honest yet if they had gone to the staff they would have come up with a better way of doing this instead of staff being threatened by managers, thanks for telling me much appreciated.

You got it so right Brother...My office is becoming the most depressed and cynical environment to be in..all bitching andminimumstandard wrote:In Yeovil, they all moan but wont strike it's all the unions fault but want to go home early, to scared to book overtime wont put grievance in will work day off when strike is on because dont want to take to much mail out, and god help them when the van sharing comes in as it will be a shambles
back -biting...Yet you dare suggest any form of collective response to the DOM to his daily unachievable workload they all bury their heads...People coming in early, not booking overtime, preping door to doors in their own time...My place is already a shambles...Used to love this job..but it's a f***ing disgrace now and some of my colleagues are as well...
