I#ve found quite a few fivers and tenners over the years, and twice I've found twenty pound notes. It used to be the rule that cash found on delivery had to be handed to the manager. That might have changed since I started in 1980, but my mate found a fiver and handed it to the manager and never heard of it again. Personally, I hand them to the police station just in case it's someones last few bob, but so far, they've never been claimed and I've had them given to me. I found a little RC medal once, which was never claimed, and not being a Catholic, I gave that to a woman on my delivery who was. I also found a book about killer whales and a piece of crystal glass.

Used tampon on a doorstep, a plucked dead chicken hanging from a front door knob. Had the usual assortment of dirty kex and half eaten food while emptying the head office box on nights. Also caught one bloke having a tug as I looked in through in his wondow to see if anyone was in as I had a packet for him, noticed what was on the telly and was then greeted at the door by a rather sheepish looking man wearing a dressing gown and leaning forward to disguise his arousal.
But the best ever was while walking down this particular road I noticed a police car outside but couldn't see anything as the car was obscuring my view. As I got nearer I saw why the police had been called. Lined up on the garden wall were 3 pigs heads, and along the garden path were another 2.
