Re: xmas mail
It all comes down to hours needed vs hours worked.
So the question for me is any given D.O got enough man power/hours in order to clear for Xmas?
For those who are a no, is there any pattern to them such as revisions?

Re: xmas mail
We would not have cleared even without the weather because of the volume of work. People have just gone through the worst revision ever and do not have the will to go the extra mile......they are refusing to work their days off and no wonder really because they believe they have been shafted.
Managers are in from all over they've got extra vehicles in addition to the specials for Christmas and still won't clear. I very much doubt everything will be sorted let alone delivered............not a pleasant prospect to return to after Christmas, people are going to be really miffed at getting their cards and presents ipso facto.

Re: xmas mail
I have just returned from Taunton DO where parts of the town have had no deliveries since Fri / Sat last week, the staff must be praised for their high spirits and efforts that are being made to clear, but I feel this wont happen. Merry Christmas to all at Taunton DObrookstar wrote:Hope gb93 doesn't think this is spouting off, ah! but i would like to know if other offices think they may not deliver in time for xmas as our office ( Barnsley ) is chocker everything just building up, rounds are too big n long 5/ 5.5 hrs, nobody wants to be out even longer or work days off, d.o.m appear'd to be loosing it on saturday, and no-one wanted to work sunday, i hope that at least we make sure packets n parcels get delivered for our customers but that may be doubtful no matter what we do though i sincereley believe it wont be enough or good enough for our mr humbug.

Re: xmas mail
why do some offices get told for health and safety reasons there will be no deliveries on the street ?>>? W eve had the weather just as mental ,but we get told nothing regarding cancelling deliveries h and s etc . Can you make youre own mind up whether your deliveries safe or not for that day and refuse to go out??? Like everyone else says this has been a shocker this year, inc xmas and it will only get worse !

Re: xmas mail
We wouldn't have cleared without the weather but it certainly hasn't helped. It snowed last friday night about 6", it is still here and there is no sign of it shifting. The rurals have had a really hard time of it and the HCTs are being used on half a dozen duties, the rest are back to 8kg pouches. They have concentrated solely on parcels and packets today.gb93 wrote:Oopsgb93 wrote:Go on then I will admit it.
