Well i FINALLY ! asked my union rep about this yet he and my dim said all that could/would happen is i would have to work 5 days over 6, which would mean no SA day yet still having to work 5 out of 6 Saturdays..neither of which is what i want....i'm persuing it further....Bernardson wrote:Like all agreements they are normaly tailored to local working practice but the overiding principles ie 12 month contract 4 weeks notice of ceasation should be adhered too.da'bunny wrote:Keep meaning to ask my union rep about the above. Possibly a silly question but is the SA agreement a local one or the same for all offices? and if so has anyone got a copy they can put on here?

Re: Lapsing swap
Surely having one day a week off is better than haveing none? I work a rolling day off meaning I get a long weekend every fives weeks. Sometimes I work my day off but the choice is mine. Having a day off in the week is good for doing even the mundane things you don't normaly have time to do.da'bunny wrote:Well i FINALLY ! asked my union rep about this yet he and my dim said all that could/would happen is i would have to work 5 days over 6, which would mean no SA day yet still having to work 5 out of 6 Saturdays..neither of which is what i want....i'm persuing it further....Bernardson wrote:Like all agreements they are normaly tailored to local working practice but the overiding principles ie 12 month contract 4 weeks notice of ceasation should be adhered too.da'bunny wrote:Keep meaning to ask my union rep about the above. It seems to me that your office never realy looked at the options available to giving people days off and it was more expediant to agree a system for six day working which is outside the spirit of the agreement.

I asked someone in the know at work shall we say about our SA agreement and how come we dont sign for it annualy only to be told it was never signed for in the first place!! So...does this mean we shouldn't even be doing SA ?

With the Buisness transformation agreement your present arangements will change anyway. You need to have the discussion in your office about the new duty structures within the agreement.da'bunny wrote:I asked someone in the know at work shall we say about our SA agreement and how come we dont sign for it annualy only to be told it was never signed for in the first place!!
