Yes.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Is there anything on here that i could show the manager stating the 105kg Max weight etc?
 Trolleys - Before the introduction of a trolley on a delivery walk, a 'terrain assessment' must be carried out as part of the walk risk assessment process to ensure that the terrain is suitable in particular for High Capacity Trolley (HCT) use. The correct lifting and handling techniques must be used and they must not be overloaded. The Safe Systems of Work for Trolleys must be followed at all times. The local walk risk assessment must be completed including consultations with security and the local authority before deployment. The HCT is intended to be used on ‘level or undulating’ surfaces where small inclines do not cause any additional force to be exerted. Use of HCTs in all circumstances will in any case be subject to local risk and safety assessments undertaken by the manager in consultation with the local Safety Representative. If accelerating HCT’s then they must be loaded/unloaded either using a vehicle with a tail lift or via the approved ramp following the Safe System of Work (SSOW) for HCT ramps. The weights below are maximum subject to a local terrain assessment. These are the only trolleys currently authorised for use:
-High Capacity Trolley - on flat/undulating terrain the max load is 70kg and the Max gross weight 105kg - On steep terrain the max load is 40kg and Max gross weight 75kg. When using a HCT you must load the front section with light/bulky items and mail to be delivered first. The rear section should be loaded with most of the bundles of mail. When approaching steep hills, ensure that only the rear section is loaded with letter mail in order to restrict the load to below 40kg.

If a manager asked me to do that i would either...

A) Start laughing and tell him to f**k off.
B) Touch the HCT with my finger, drop to the floor and call my lawyer.

To be honest it would depend on my mood that day. :chuckle :chuckle

FFS grow a pair,not you woody,the others.
105 is max, there should be a document or flyer type thing in you office,if their aint put the 105 in and if he wants to conduct you, enjoy the ride.
whats that suppose to mean..?. its ok you banging on saying "grow a pair", its not you who's on a 4 month rolling contract with a manager breathing down your neck reminding you of that fact. i really dont fancy being out of work with xmas so close, my two young boys would be gutted if father christmas couldnt afford to bring them gifts........
Him saying that could possibly be construed as constructive, ask him for it in writing next time, or to repeat it in front of the Union Rep, works wonders does that one.

Don't all DO's have a roll on roll off scales on the ramp for weighing Yorks and the like ?

Plus how many of us actually weigh our pouches in the morning, some of our lot say better to take as much as you can so you don't have to hang around for a pouch drop.

I wish I had a HCT on my walk my only drop point is miles away. I could take my entire delivery out in one go, lock it at the end of the roads/bottom of the flats and take a pouch with that road/block of flats in working from the trolley. I realise they aren't suited for a lot of deliveries but the idea of a mobile drop point appeals to me lol, shame my walk is about 3 miles away from the office :(

This is the maximum recommend weight in the trolley but what happens when it is a busy day and there is no relief driver to drop mail out to you, obviously you will try and put as much in the HCT rather than return to the office to collect the rest which isn't practical anyway

Not saying it can't be done but it's very hard to get that sort of weight in a HCT, you normally run out of room before it get's near the limit.

Why not,s**t happens,if it can't fit in and you have no other option than to come back, then so be it.
If things get to that then you would surely struggle to complete.
