Re: The Truth as I see it !!
Ok,the firm is skint(apparently) now without sounding rude,thick,nieve ect ect...........so f***ing what.
What can i do,what can any of us do?
It aint my problem, and i really mean it,it aint,i aint worried one bit.
I do my job, there is not much savings to be made at my place if any at all,so what's next.
Do they want me to work for free for a while ffs!
I don't get paid enough to worry, there are people employed on premership footballers wages who's job it is to get it sorted.
You only have to go with what a lot of you say on here about the state of your offices, mass part timers,flexing,lapsing/absorbing,the savings there on a daily basis would be massive.
It's the same old yo yo s**t,profits up then down, then up then down then up then down ect all on a yearly basis,i mean wtf is that all about.
One last thing, this has been going round for the last few months, are the CWU going to release a statement to the troops who could possibly be worried?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Well said both of you
So many genius business brains come and go with their mega bonuses and payoffs ,that you will never earn in a lifetime, and the net result of all their super intelligent dicking about is that the service makes a bigger loss than ever.
Now if anyone had bothered to ask me ,I could have f****d the firm up just as much for a fraction of :cfo :lfo 's wedge

So the companys broke. What a surprise. Now instead of trying to put all the staff on a guilt trip why don't they trying telling the government, Postcom, papers instead .... or would that mean admitting that they (as in the management) aren't very good (to put it mildly)

Re: The Truth as I see it !!
i have worked for this company for 30 years,it doesn`t suprise me that they are having financial problems.over the years i seen so much money wasted on building work done on the cheap only have to be done again properly.
for years i seen managers which we don`t need on fab salaries doing f.all.yet where they need to spend money on the fronrline and resource they don`t. instead they scrimp and save try to con the staff wonder why moral is low trying to do a impossible job with the least amount of staff. yet you look round yourself and see where they can make saving easily.
If we are in such a mess then the people at the top who are running the business should be made accountable for it.after all we ever here is business is dropping off people are communicating by phone email etc.
Is that the frontline staffs fault ,they have made more than enough sacrifices taken on more work for less hours yet they look round and see a company top heavy with needless amounts of managers on salaries that cause so much resentnment while they are tryingthe best to give a service with limited resources at hand.

Sounds exactly like my MC benn2261. We've got 3 managers supervising 6 (or less) staff at times. We have Shift Managersbenn2261 wrote:i have worked for this company for 30 years,it doesn`t suprise me that they are having financial problems.over the years i seen so much money wasted on building work done on the cheap only have to be done again properly.

sorting for 2 hours every day, while opgs/pt can't get any OT. Staff are knocking their boll@x off trying to do the work of
people who have (understandably) taken VR/EVR.

Re: The Truth as I see it !!
It just explains why most of the in the know posters avoid this sight like the plague.
I did say it does not concern me whether you believe me or not , but the facts are clear and Royal Mail for the first time ever have opened their books to the union.
What does it mean well as far as the union is concerned it means that the Government dids to take on the pension defecit , allow for Royal Mail to borrow money but its does not need to be privatised and then allow share holders to run down the company ever further and faster then this current bunch of industrial terrorists. In addtion there must be concessions made by post comm especially in the way of the head room access price. No company can be in a good postion if two thirds of its profitable mail has now via DSA missed the network and outward processing operations and then Royal Mail has to perfrom the most costly part of the work the USO which means that the cherry pickers TNT etc make a profit and Royal Mail depending on where the work is targeted struggle. So whilst a lot on here in deliveries state they are not losing work the reality is that the revenue Royal Mail now get for the work you are delivering is far less than previously meaning the delivery operation is more costly. No one is to blame apart from Post Comm and the previous Government in addtion the Governmment must not stop the post office subsidy otherwise there will be the biggest closures programme every for post office counters as they will not be included in the sell off.
Equally Royal Mail must honour the full terms of the national agreement. The delays in the programme are in the main Royal Mail`s fault as they wanted the upper decile linked to world class mails being the criteria for productivity and now have shared with the union at national level where they think offices are its based on density of houses/addresss for towns , cities and rurals.
Of course there are on going problems with regards to the IWT , the default postion of 100 bsi on iwt , delivery office closures and mail centre closures. But does anyone believe whether we had an agreement or not that we would not be dealing with all the above a lot weaker in the absecne of any protection.
No some of you point out that no government would allow the post office go to the wall , but do you really think that this government would not miss the opportunity to change dramatically how the industry is run and owned if it has to bail out the industry ? Do you really think that would be a good move for the workforce.
Equally the bravdo of those who say it does not concern them if Royal Mail runs out of money for even vrs or wages etc. I suggust you speak to someone who used to work for the Sun as warping how it feels .

Re: The Truth as I see it !!
The real truth is that Royal Mail and the Government have shot themselves in the foot by claiming mail volumes are falling year on year. Would you pay £4bn for a company? and say that in less than 5 years may only be worth £2bn??? No i wouldn't either, so someone is telling porkies. The mail volume claim has been the major reason for pushing through cuts and shrinking the workforce to make way for new machinery, pure and simple. Its backfired in delivery offices though where cuts have gone to far and mail is now wilfully delayed by managers because they can't get it delivered, this is happening at my office now on a daily basis.
But like Postman has said, its not our problem its the managers, the balls in their court now!

Get a grip of yourself dingo, information we don't know? The truth! wrote:joke away ! Not intrested in a debate but picking up on one point Royal Mail made a operating profit as a result of the subsidy from the Government on post office counters which is coming to the end and as a result of the selling of property assets in mail centres and delivery offices which are one offs !! For a business with over 7.5 billion turn over the profits are not as high percentage wise as the parcels business GLS which Royal Mail purchased.
I come on this site again not to have a debate as you wont convince me and i am not going to convince you but to tell you information which you will not know. Whethet you believe it , mock it is up to you. Only time will tell whether the information I have given you is factual and whether your mocking was the right choice.
A blind man can see that this agreement is in trouble, despite it being the deal of the century, it has proved to be a deal too far and beyond both parties to deliver. So we now need a political solution do we? Then why wasn't that solution found when your Labour Party buddies were in power and being supported by the CWU. Any idea what the solution could be dingo?, not privatisation by any chance. This company has been in trouble for at least five years and with agreements which have denigrated our pay and conditions as a sop to avoid biting the bullet and taking the necessary action to FORCE a solution to the problem.
There are many at fault for the problem we are in but the workforce is certainly not one of the culprits but are being forced to pay the highest price.

Not sure about this one. I heard it at work as well - seems like this 'secret' has been slipped out (on purpose).
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Privatisation IS the political solution, and the CWU people are on a nice little earner.
