It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Stokes
Then don't let the Rep sign it off SIMPLE
They can't move forward until each stage gets signed off so just refuse and let the Dom and Planner sweat it out until you get what you think is fair and right.
My Dom is getting a bollocking because we should be at stage 3 according to his boss ( DSM ) but were not happy about the way they want to use IWT, and that our APlus is not correct ect, so we have refused to even sign stage 1 off at present. Just to add to this we have also gone to stage 1 disagreement over resourceing of our Office ( Stoke Agreement not being followed )

Stokes.... This is the bit i don't get.Good Rep or not the Area Rep or whoever does not have the right to sign anything off unless your office gives them the OK to do so.stokes11eg wrote:If only we had one of the good reps---,bur sadly, like BIG B--the ones we've had always buckle down to what the Management want!
If any Rep tries to go it alone and sign off each stage without the office agreeing then you need to report it to Branch or HQ and demand something is done about them,
Try and get together as an office, talk about what's going on, and try and get people to get on-board with you and put a stop to any underhand tactics that might be taking place.
I know it's not easy, I have been pulling my teeth out trying to get people in my office to join in, some are willing, But others just want to come in, do what they've got to do and go home.
At the end of the day it's us all that have to live with any changes that are made so if we want that change to be fair and reasonable the only chance we have of that is to fight for it, we may still not get that but at least we will have tried.

Not in my office, our Office Rep is the one who says if it gets signed off or not. He has to OK it then the Area Rep can sign off but only if office Rep says so.
I'm the P/T Rep in my D/O and help with all the Revision stuff as the office Rep doesn't like computers ect. If we don't agree on something then we don't move forward end of.
( PS Thanks for the PM.... very interesting )

Is this agreement still valid?Shared car-derived van use is where 2 or 3 staff work together to deliver their walks by operating from a vehicle. The group accelerates itself from the office to the start of the delivery in a vehicle that then acts as a nucleus, from which the group operates. The deliveries are broken-down into short ‘bursts’ that normally start and finish at the vehicle. The ‘bursts’ take approximately 20 minutes each and this results in staff spending less time working alone and allows a smaller pouch to be used. Where the road layout makes longer bursts more suitable a Lightweight Delivery Trolley (Golf trolley) should be considered as a method of reducing the weight carried.
