It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: No More Overtime
I dont do OT anymore but they have brought this in in my DO
personally i just laughed when i heard it
like the other day when the lino told a guy we must come back and take out 20 minute break in the office at the end of our shift.
If we are not completing everything eg packets,lapsing,D2D etc
so i queried this
i asked how i was getting back.
you driver will; bring you back.
great i said,so he will be cutting then
blank look from the DIM
then i asked given they admit all the duties arent equal that they are discriminating against people who are working harder duties hrough their poor planning
another blank look
an hour later he was round telling folk they wont have to come back for the 20
i could care less
im nore than happy to be on delivery/in the office to my time
not a second over
so the more stuff they bring in to encourage folks to do the same the better

I don't have to its a daily experience and so much more less stressful than trying to make 10 minutes.fishtank wrote:You won't have to imagine it for much longer.post_bitch wrote:i could imagine the uproar in my office if they had to come back to the office until there shif time finished

Re: No More Overtime
There is absolutely no obligation on your part to abide by a request to take an official rest break at what is essentially the very end of your shift, as this contravenes employment law on such matters, in my eyes... Breaks are to be taken around the middle of the woking day, not at the start or the end.custard wrote:I dont do OT anymore but they have brought this in in my DO

Re: No More Overtime
No more overtime.....for managers.
The code has been removed from the system...all overtime must now be taken as time in lieu. repayable when the business can absorb it.
I don't know if it's just an area thing or if it's national but i pissed myself laughing when i found out.

Re: No More Overtime
Bit tricky booking OT for your manager if he's out the door and on his way home at 10:30 after rolling in at 7fishtank wrote:No more overtime.....for managers.![]()
