Only sticking block being that most of them (management) do not know the meaning of proper consultation.
Oh brother....now that would be utopia.
Is it too much to ask? This agreement was meant to herald a new dawn in our industrial relations. Our union pleaded with us to take this "leap of faith", but i'm afraid i've not seen anything different yet. If anything, it's got worse with D2D's being put into the workload, and lino's trying to squeeze even more into the day. The "newbies" and the "weak willed" are getting walked all over, and part timers have got the s**t end of all the sticks ...... i can't bring them all with me. It's all too easy to blame the union for everything, and hence they're leaving.
At this rate it won't be long before union members are the minority in my office, then that'll open up a new can of worms .........

I think if you look at your offices traffic you would see a decline.

Not mine :Very Happy

Traffic is going up, sick leave is up and the DOM wants a RM Casual to tide us over untill the revision.

Daz I would hazard a guess if you went back to 1984 and the year I joined Royal Mail then traffic has gone down in your office and probably all offices in the UK.
1984? FFS how far in the dim and distant past do you people want to go? In 1984 the unions still had power, in 1994 they still had some power, in 2010 they have none at all.

If traffic has fallen in the last oh - 26 years.................... would you say that the workforce has also fallen by proportion?

However I think over time , a new relationship will devlop, a relationship where the rep is more involved then ever before and assisted by senior reps in better way then before.
Any chance of a timeframe before we can even get a glimpse of the green shoots of a new relationship dingo?
As far as i can see this relationship seems to consist of Can we?...No you can't....Ok.
Just how many hawks are at the top table and have they eaten the doves?
Does Higson have any control over the hawks....or is he the biggest hawk of all?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

There is a new relationship but it isn't between the managers and the workforce it's between Royal Mail and the CWU.

60,000 fewer posties since 1984 isn't it? So less traffice means nothing.

Workload is the benchmark we should use. 1984 1 and a half bags per day? 2010 Lucky sod if you have a walk with just 4 bags a day, average must be 5-6.

dingo anything to say about the d2d swindle ( sorry delivery supplement :Very Happy ) being implemented whilst CDV being delayed?

surely even you must be getting the picture now

we do the extra work and we don't get the tools for the job

what is your union going to do about it?

Exactly what they have done for the last five years.
