What happens to the collection guys?mclovin wrote:Collections.clashcityrocker wrote:The time the mail into your DO will surely determine your delivery length.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:So do you guys think thats what gona happen ? were gona be offered 4 day weeks ??
If you don't get mail until 7am then a 10 hr day would take you to 5pm.
If the last letter has to be delivered by 3pm what would you do for 2 hrs?

Dont know. But collections will be part of office budgets rather than hub budgets. At the minute our collections, 4pm and 5pm are made on SA overtime by drivers from our office. And thats where the time will be made up.fishtank wrote:What happens to the collection guys?mclovin wrote:Collections.clashcityrocker wrote:The time the mail into your DO will surely determine your delivery length.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:So do you guys think thats what gona happen ? were gona be offered 4 day weeks ??

Re: saturdays!!!!
Ehh small point the agreement stipulates 1 in 4 saturdays off, it doesn't say thats dependant on moving to 4 day weeks.dingo wrote:Of course when you have any improved attendances they have always been self funded. When you went from a six day week to 5 day week you had to collaspe one duty in every six to become a rest day cover. You dont lose the job they just become the rest day cover.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:My manager said today that when these 1 in 4 starts, the people who work sats are going to get seriously shafted as theyre going to have to cover the peoples extra whos off for the 1 in 4 - so how the f**k is that fair ???
Also , I dont have sats off due to childcare issues midweek, ive not had a satdi off in 3 years, so that means im going to get royally shafted EVERY f****king week !! How the F**k is that fair ??
If you move to a 4 day week then 5 duties will have collaspe into 4 duties to fund an extra rest day cover.
Are you saying we only get our 1 in 4 saturdays if we move to a 4 day week?
if so were does it say that in the agreement????

He's not saying that, the 4 day week is one in 3 anyway,he's talking about the funding part of 'some' duty specs.belle smith wrote:Ehh small point the agreement stipulates 1 in 4 saturdays off, it doesn't say thats dependant on moving to 4 day weeks.dingo wrote:Of course when you have any improved attendances they have always been self funded. It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

And there is nothing in the agreement that precludes the adoption of different attendance patterns within the same office. So in practical terms each office should support a variety of attendance patterns to accommodate the needs of all employeesTrueBlueTerrier wrote:2 Ways of doing it outlines below but in essence yes you should have a voice.pinstripe wrote:So who makes the decision if an office moves to 4 day weeks or not.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Its a possibility and if Dingo, Lovejoy and the Truth are right it should be an option which the membership could decide on. As I see it as long as the numbers of hours in their budget is not increased from the agreed revisions/replots then the membership of the office can decide on the attendance patterns and be able to choose which one is the most popular.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:So do you guys think thats what gona happen ? were gona be offered 4 day weeks ??
How will it affect part timers, or do they not count, being losers?
1. Both management and Union have input and they come to an agreed recommendation which is put to a vote where all CWU members have an equal vote.
2. Or the Union discuss matters with members who come to a consensus after a vote and the reps take that to management and they thrash out the details
