BELIAL wrote:Ah I see you are unfamiliar with the latest management modernisation initiative . Let me introduce to this groundbreaking concept, the permanently lapsed duty. In order to meet the target budget savings the required number of walks remain unmanned and with the application of a suitable amount of pressure are completed by lapsing on a daily basis( on more challenging days OT may be offered as a last resort)But why would there be lapsed duties every day, in a office where there is isnt lots of bods on sick there wont be lapsed duties every day. Revisions will set the number of duties and if extra staff are need then RML should recruit/redeploy MC staff who want to stay with RML but have become surplus.
Thankyou for that,
I shall be sure to keep a look out for the latest management modernisation initiative , as it happens my DOM wishes to talk shop this week, so his plans/ideas for the interim period covering now and the non sequenced revision which has been delayed by 15 weeks will be revealed.

Re: 100% Call Rate
Don't know what area you are from, but expect your DOM is lying or misinformed, call rates will be set below 100%, probablyStormproof wrote:When my DOM tried to sell us the agreement the other week I asked the question about 100% call rates and he said I was correct in assuming that would happen.
what they are now. A meeting recently attended by a VERY SENIOR RM manager, when asked question stated call rates will not be
set at 100%, after all why would we build inefficiency in. Chance that if a day specific D2D came in for Del they would pay docket.
After all, as i have said before, in theory we will have an extra day to del D2D & according to some we are already given time in duty to
prep them in RM 's time, so don't get expecting a big influx of hours, after all no agreement on BSI/DPT/IWT/GEOROUTE measures,
or if there is, no mention of agreed rates etc, walk spans & indoor hours may change in content, but trust me, THERE WILL BE NO SUDDEN

Good post as you say their is no way 100% call rate will be implemented after all they would not shell out on more vans less vans and posties = more bonuses!.Steviea34 wrote:Don't know what area you are from, but expect your DOM is lying or misinformed, call rates will be set below 100%, probablyStormproof wrote:When my DOM tried to sell us the agreement the other week I asked the question about 100% call rates and he said I was correct in assuming that would happen.

And what if you didn't want, or couldn't do over-time? Having to work to 3.00pm on a Saturday (I'm assuming I'll be one of the unlucky ones, again), then being asked to do o/t on top, no thanks.Steviea34 wrote: Chance that if a day specific D2D came in for Del they would pay docket.

And that's exactly why it won't be on docket .....
because if your DOM lined up everyone who wanted docket on a saturday after 3.00pm he would have to join the line.....just to make it a line.

What i am saying is that it won't be on docket because you have to find someone first who is willing to do it and on a saturday that aint gonna fly.

Just to pick your thoughts, how will they ensure the day specific product will be delivered to spec or do you think this has not been considered.fishtank wrote:No Steviea34 i don't think for a minute call rates will be set at 100%.Steviea34 wrote:Are you saying that call rates will be set at 100% then mate, cos the meeting i attended, RM 's stance was that call rates would not be setfishtank wrote:pinstripe wrote:And what if you didn't want, or couldn't do over-time? Or more importantly, if the CWU is selling this deal to both us & the RM, surely they would be expecting members to abide by the deal or
what is the point of agreeing / negotiating this product spec. Or is it just a case of agree, get it in & sort the problems later at a local
level - ah i can feel a headache coming on

If you think like that it becomes an indoor workload problem which are much easier to solve.
If you think about it the difference between an 88% call rate and a 100% call rate on a 4hr duty is only about 25mins.
So if i can get you out the door 25mins early i've won a watch.
How would you do it?..theres a hundred different ways to accelerate your IPS from bringing in P/T early to nightshifts to cutting the 2nd class and mailsort or packets.i've seen all of these tricks used.

Well i would love to see my managers face having to put in more hours on I.P.S ,once BSI/IWT is agreed his DSM will then be on his back forfishtank wrote:Well if i was a manager(Steviea34 wrote:

Re: 100% Call Rate
Well either way the hours for a day specific D2D would have to go in,it's just easier for a DOM to put them into indoor workload rather than trying to find people willing to work over their time.Steviea34 wrote:Well i would love to see my managers face having to put in more hours on I.P.S ,once BSI/IWT is agreed his DSM will then be on his back forfishtank wrote:Well if i was a manager(Steviea34 wrote:

And if you have an undefined delivery span that "enables" you to absorb a 100% call rate then all the better.
