What an clueless post.

I tell you what then rather tahn incorporate the ESA let it carry on dying out of the industry and going with each person that leave and stuff anyone that joins..... Great Trade Unionism!!!
Lets also forget about the existing 1000's & 1000's of members who will be ££££'s WORSE OFF forever because of the removal of D2D & NDA allowances ( once its removed, It'll NEVER be reinstated ) - I presume that is also Great Trade Unionism too

I love this "dying out of the industry" bit it's very poetic.
What you really mean is going in to the back pocket of Royal Mail which really should give a decent negotiator more ammunition to argue for a better deal since the lost ESA is doing it's bit to improve our employers profits.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

I look at it slightly differently lovejoy - The people who get it now under grandfather rights would still get it until they retired - by this simplification process they no longer get it but somebody who never had it does. Why not pay those who had those rights a lump sum as a deal, pro rata of course. What they have done is use our own money to pay off the rights to D2D money - if it wasn't such a con it would be laughable.

Clueless I may be - but when faced with crap I know what it is - unlike those who would eat it.

Here is my take on this some will shoot me down for this! As i see it most if not all will start later while i do not agree with this ESA is not needed for those old duties but if the people who received this allowance kept it till change of function not just duty as we all will have different duties in the near future and all moneys saved go into the basic pay if any allowance is taken away!. On door too door we have all fell into the trap of an easier way to do door too door if one thing irritates me more than anything it is that those who do the work should receive the payment for it regardless of hours or function why in gods name should we give up the existing agreement on door too door is an anathema it beggars belief that we gain one hour yet be worked into the ground to pay for it!. This whole agreement falls far short of the aspirations of all postmen and postwomen it is for us all to resist this in our own interests as well as our fellow workers i say vote against this so called agreement!.

Same here. I don't trust them. In three years time they could say it was permanent for three years, and take it off us, or simply tell us that due to drop in mail RM cant survive whilst making these payments.

That's why I think it should be incorporated into our normal wages (IE scrapped, and us having a decent pay rise), as seen here: http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 42&t=25103" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

£20 a week added as a percentage to our wages, which will increase with every future pay rise, looks a lot better.

I'd still vote NO though.

We, in common with almost all front-line staff, don't need to be Mystic Meg, NewPostieUK.
But, somebody at CWU HQ needs to be, and bloody fast.
