Well dvb i will not lower myself to name calling, but in the last strike the figure quoted was this, Then on Saturday it will be the turn of 77,000 delivery and collection staff across the UK (bbc news 29 oct 2009) now unless royal mail have employed 18000 more staff, where do you get your infor from.dvbuk55 wrote:Well mystic Meg where did that figure of 25,000 postmen come from - deduct that though from the 95, 000 delivery postmen and you get a 2 to 1 against - it could be 68% but it won't be a YES vote.oggie wrote:will not matter, the way it has been designed you just have to do the maths, there are 25000 delivery posties who will be better off with this supplement, just that alone will divide the deliveries vote, and then you have all the other fuctions which are not affected by the d2d issue.upmyroad wrote:phantomshare wrote:Are you scared of working your hours??
If the answers NO then why are you so scared of this agreement?
Forget about D2D in there current format, because with or without agreement things are going to change and that wil lead to more IA.
Far to many cynics on here, i'm all for debate but let's keep it to a acceptable standard.
I will prepare myself for the barrage of abuse.
Little or no chance of a yes vote from our office
i reckon a 68% yes vote

Re: Support the CWU & Vote YES!!
Do you think that If RM could get away with it and save £2,000,000 per week that they would hesitate in implementing it. The fact is that they have TRIED EX.ACTION and where did that get them ? A national strike. We lost £100's - They lost £1m's - Thats why they'll negotiate again if there is a rejection of the deal based upon D2D worries of the membership...Sure they'll complain, but ( dispite indecations to the contrary ) they're not stupid. If by re-addressing the D2D issue they get a yes vote, I think that they would settle for that as they will have got through the majority of the changes that they wanted. They need the majority of the workers on side to carry their plans through.OGGIE = "royal mail already has the databases of all addresses of which they own, has the network in place and of course the delivery postperson's to deliver them, the only expense would be the filling and cost of the envelopes, i have been to printer's and mailing house's which have machine's which do this job so there would be a investment needed in the 1st place, but then the saving would be around £2 mil a week, and thats not counting the money royal mail would make from these.
the choice is clear, get it in the workload and get paid a supplement or maybe the above and get paid nothing."

Re: Support the CWU & Vote YES!!
I start on time, I finish on time but I'm not voting Yes for a pay cut. Money was'nt on the agenda for most of us when we had local strikes followed by the national ones. As far as I can see HQ has'nt dealt with our local strike issues! So once again I am going to have to vote NO on the ballot paper as I did in 2007.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Re: Support the CWU & Vote YES!!
the door to door issue is way open to abuse.
in some offices the time saved on walk sequencing still wont allow you to prep your dtds.
can see the same old scenario.
guv i am struggling to complete today way too much mail.
dim:you've not got a lot today you are are just not trying.
etc etc etc

On the proposed longer Saturdays, I will do everything I can to make time out of the job. I will come in early, I will rush like f**k, and before pointing the finger of blame at me, I'd suggest pointing it in the general direction of the gutless CWU.phantomshare wrote:Are you scared of working your hours??

Not pointing the finger of blame at anyone, just asked a question.
I work my hours also.
there have been numerous debates on this site regarding saturday finish times and lot's of ppl finish late already.
D2D is the big sticking point, but what would you do on monday if they said no more D2D anymore lad's/lasses?
would it be hooray i hate that crap anyway or would it be crap i will miss that cash?

Being told by someone who earns 100,000 a year and the perks on top, to take a pay cut, I think he has lost the plot. Another Johnson in the making?

Monday Scenario 1 - Right you're not getting anymore D2D and you are not getting paid for them
OR
Monday Scenario 2 - Right here's 8 lots of D2D and you are not getting paid for them

Union have lost the plot in my opinion.
Dave Ward has been under alot no doubt, but a fresh face would help now.
Work your hours is BS for deliveries and *nobody* gains.
