Not true. If we reject this one, a new agreement will have to be negotiated only this time the membership will be consulted and not left in the dark. Who can trust ACAS after this?

RM cannot simply change our contracts or they would have done it already.

Out of interest, are you called 'End of the road' because you are a venerable branch official close to retirement and largely unaffected by the pension changes?

I'm a rep and I havent had the agreement sent to me yet.
I've only read it because its on here.
As for the original question - just because I represent the CWU at local level doesnt mean I have to agree with everything the NEC agree.
Personally I think the delivery supplement replacing D2D payments (pro rata for LTFT) is an absolute disgrace. As are longer Saturdays.

Ok i get what your saying, just thought it was strange thats all. Our Dom has the full agreement sitting on his desk today, so would of thought the reps atleast would of had a copy by now.

slave wrote:"End of the road" - you do have a point, if we reject this deal and opt for strike action I fear it could be a bloody battle and RM will probably impose conditions and make more job cuts because people "will" go elsewhere for delivery services (it might cost them more but it will get there rather than be held up for weeks on end). We would end up going out on strike for a long time and for what - keeping D2D payments? A bigger bonus? Ask yourself what you would want and think about it.. We had a strong position before Christmas and we ended up with this deal, we would need to be in that position again, considering the union walked away from that strike position to give us this I believe an even greater number of union members will break the strike because they have lost faith in the union.

I'm still undecided about my vote, as much as I hate parts of the deal I can't see what else we will get - lets face it, it's taken 4 months for the union to get this!!! I find it hard to believe they would be capable of getting anything more from RM, they are obviously out of touch with us and without wholesale replacement of all top-level union we are up s**t creek.
I've got to weigh up the cost of going out on long-term strike against the extra's we 'might' get.

Yes or no? Either way we stand to lose out.

Well you can either lose a grand sriking this year or get the same taken off you every year for the for the rest of your royal mail career!

It is quite easy for local Reps to advise a NO vote as they work at the sharp end and actually understand what members really want. Unlike those in the ivory towers of HQ who are completely ignorant to what members want, but decide to tell members what they want rather than ask.
Local Reps go out on walks do IPS and Prep.
Local Reps will also lose money because Dave and Billy don't listen.

As a Union rep I'll be voting NO as its a Really bad deal, and just about everyone in our office that has spoken to me thinks the same.

Im a rep and i have read the agreement on here and think its disgusting. My area rep wouldnt insult my intelligence by telling me its a good deal.Fed up being let down by the fat cats down south. To negotiate for that length of time, back out at christmas then come up with an agreement where you LOSE money and work HARDER is a disgrace. The great union havent given me a copy of the agreement to pass on which doesnt make me look to clever and i can understand people in offices questioning their reps.CWU probably too ashamed of this so called deal!! NO,NO,NO,NO,NO!!!
