I went in today ( after a lot of soul searching, and asking my rep if I should cancel my union membership after the announcement - fortunately he advised I stay in ), and there were 4 others at the unit I was at, ( but I don't know how many if any did ) go in at the main unit, 3 miles up the road - allegedly 2 of them are not union members according to the DOM - which makes me think either he's breaking the habit of a lifetime and telling the truth, or they are members of the NEC ). No one went out on delivery, except managers ( allegedly due to concerns about us getting a shoeing from MOPs / posties from London DOs that live in the area - but I wasn't bothered, meant I could go off to make tea and have a smoke at will ).

Oh yes, the reason it is fortunate that I'm still in the union is next Saturday is my day off, so I'll be getting my arse out of bed 2 hrs early ( my start time next week is 8:30am ) & getting down to get a good spot on the picket.

BTW, if you want to know why I went in today, I'll post it up if requested and all replies to this post will be answered in kind

I couldn't work my day off this week, and could not afford to picket this week, next week the strike day is my day off ( even if it wasn't on Saturday I'd already been asked to work my day off ), and even though I can really do with the over time, I can survive without it. Hopefully a good agreement ( for us, not RM ) will be reached soon, then my rep can get on my DOM's case about the repick ( and I'll finally get my FT contract )

Its all very well calling people "strike breakers" ,but people who i know went in today did so because they are are in massive financial difficulties and just can't survive without the money.
This guy told me he wouldn't be able to feed his kids if he didn't attend despite the fact he was 100% behind the strike.

How many of these people yelling "strike breakers" are single blokes, with no responsbilites living at home with Mummy and Daddy i wonder :left:

Guilty as charged on the highlighted bit - but if I have to cross the line again ( God forbid, once was too much ), and I'm working with someone that laughs at the strikers, I will take great pleasure in calling them a scab, loud and clear ( I can't see RM coding a scab for abusing another scab )
