we used to have a manager like that, crossed armed, puffed out chest with a cold stare..also his side kick followed his example, alot of staff put in complaints and after a while (i think our" have your say" comments got back to higher management) we were given an oppertunity to air our views on the manager, we were each given a 15minute slot in an interview room with 2 people from rm fbi, i only know two people who said a good word for him (platform boss & his number2) everybody else slaughtered him & his sad ass was history....however his punishment was to run a delivery office on his door step, plus keeping his nightshift payrate etc, he kept getting messages sent to us saying how much he enjoyed his new job and how great it was working mornings as he could now go and watch manchester united more often ,..i suspect though the feeling that he failed will take along time to heal...his intimadating mannorism couldnt stop the staff failing to clear the work, infact it was a major factor in why the work wasnt cleared..if your shift fails enough times the manager gets it in the end.

They've been doing pretty regular prep and IPS speed check in my DO. No one's came up too short so far, but there's a few who've done close to 35 in a minute or more. This screws up themselves and everyone else.

There's lots of staring down rows and standing behind posties back. Maybe it's cause they fancy us, but mostly they're just being fudds.

Worst is the Patrols.
"What time are you going to finish?" ask's the DOM.
"I'm not sure," begin's the postie, hefting his bag on his shoulder. "I've still got-"
"YOU'RE AN EXPERINANCED POSTMAN!" The DOM interupts, his dummy flying out of his mouth. "YOU SHOULD KNOW WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO FINISH!"

Borderline harrasment, not to mention damaging morale and killing any respect we MIGHT have for these jumped up, middle-management bawbags.

We've never had that opportunity with one of our managers. Numerous complaints have been put in against him but they look at each complaint on an individual basis rather than as a whole so nothing gets done.
