biggest tosser in your office !!!

In our office we have the problem of people coming in an hour early,part and full time .I just dont understand these people that work for free,a lot come back sat to run in d2d's after their deliveries.But the one thing that really winds me up is full timers that pay part timers to run their mail in!! The excuse is that they have to pick up their kids,well guess what we are all in the same boat and if we stand together then the RM would have to help us that have kids.They just dont get it! We had one guy caught getting his mates to deliver most his mail on a saturday so he could get somewhere by 12am we offically finish at 12:45am !! Managers see people finish early and think that its all working while the rest of us that do the job right are vilifiled,no wonder the job is going downhill!!

has got the overtime locked down to him and a few of his drinking buddies.....comes in early, uses his car taking all of his bags with him whislt preaching how we should be doing the job properly.....sneaks out early to deliver a couple of bags so he can get his walk finished early and get on with his overtime

No, they're the ones that really need to only work their hours to try to force RM to give people proper contracts.

Got to agree, I'm 22.5 hours, spare, don't know what i'm on from one day to the next. A lot of the time the walk isn't thrown in

Was up to 29 put through as OT, asked for the contract for the hours hummed and hawed then bang back to 22.5 when the action started.

Right now our biggest tosser is our relief Dom. Not a clue ,got the peacock strut, clenched buttock pile retaining walk, and the I'll burn your soul laser eyes if you don't work for free. Tell him to do one and he goes three shades of purple and f's off unhappy, only to return the next day with even more baggage and attitude. I'll keep pressing his buttons just to see what happens though Might be entertaining

we got a new boss, probabaly a useless one, he is now expecting anyone who finishes early to do lapsing on other walks, good thing I do the Job properly no spare minute for them to utilise

Until full-time guys see us as part of the office and get behind us we have no chance of improved contracts.

I totally agree with this. I've worked for RM for nearly 4 years as a part-timer. At the start I was trained on many rurals and now know most of the rounds in the office, which means I basically act as a floating rural worker when management need me.

My contract is 30 hours, but since day 1 I have been doing a 40 hour week, either as this floating relief coverer of rurals, or doing a town round plus IPS to make up my hours.

For the last 3 years I have been regularly promised a full time contract. Now I KNOW I will never see one and have basically given up.

I *was* on the picket line in 2007, while a majority of full timers crossed it and what have I got for my efforts? **** all! The full-timers still look down their nose at you, and the new regulations I went on the gate to oppose, now mean I only get my 30 hours now. Losing me £90 a week as they won't let me do any IPS!

I'm all for solidarity, but not with full-time staff who don't give a f*** about me or my situation. I'll be looking after number one from here on in until I find a new job. It's the 'I'm alright Jack' attitude of full-timers that is to blame for this situation, not part-timers.

Agreed, but it's the full-timers who come in early, run round, finish two hours early because they know the corners to cut to get finished early. They are the people being noticed by management, who then make sure the rest of us have to do more work through absorption of rounds. I work my time, have my meal relief, check my van properly etc, but what is the point if full-timers, who should really be setting the standard, are not following suit?

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against full-timers (even if it does irk when they complain about the job - I always retort with, hell give me your full-time contract) and have made many great mates there over the years, so it's not a bitter point I am trying to make. I love the job, but hate the politics of it. Even in my 4 years I have seen MASSIVE changes in attitudes and practises. Gawd knows how you 20+ year fellows feel and perhaps I was naive when I started, but I never then saw managers forcing through change, and cutting hours willy-nilly, just so they get their thousands in bonuses.

4 rounds going next week in my office through absorption which is *not* just for the summer months, but ongoing. We are due to be balloted next week.

I'd say 85% of my depot are tossers. Mainly because they won't stand up for themselves. Of said 85% around 20% of them are proper brown nosers who go out drinking and socialisng with the managers and just happen to have the easiest routes. Oh, there's no favouritism in RM.
