What's the point of all this when within a year or so these new super dooper machines will be in.

in my opinion, for what it is worth, to sack as many full time delivery staff as possible...no EVR...not even statutory redundancy...plain and simple, zero cost performance dismissal....

EXACTLY-this is what is happening,and is why I have said all along, the Unions should be fighting to reatain FULL_TIME CONTRACTS on the original terms and conditions. Too late now on some fronts, but there is nothing to stop them taking a test case to Tribunal--although everyone
accepts over the years that some minor changes need to be made contracts,this wholesale slaughter is nor minor.
Past Tribunal cases have shown that too many changes, over a short period of time, constitutes a breach of contract.
Sadly, because people are allowing themselves to be railroaded in to trying the new 'trials' they are in effect accepting
them ----and that will become contractual----WHERE ARE THE UNIONS? Their ideas of modernisation is to allow(IN their speak,agree)to staff being sold down the Swanee! How many full-time jobs HAVE they saved in the past eight years?

I think this myself as all the HEALTH AND SAFETY stuff at the moment and the ATTITUDE of line managers as well as the IMPOSITION in many areas of EXECUTIVE ACTION!.

its all linked to a new planning toy management have got called the duty planner. you input your office model week traffic it calculates what your full time to part time ratio should be based on you prepping 15 a min walk sequensed or 12 a min normal it cuts indoor hours to the bone and does not include time to prep d2d its basically just another computer derived bat to hit us with. i know because they are using it in hants and dorset at the mo and its due to be rolled out to the rest of the country monday :mfo

I was walk tested a year ago. I had the one minute test, checked on the time to prep against the actual number of items and finally followed round on my delivery having notes taken. The end result was my duty had too much on it, but as the testing was done by my union rep, RM still haven't done anything about it, except leaving it alone for the Pegasus revision.
