What's the better option you think? 4 day weeks will be finishing about 5pm and out walking for 8hrs. 2 in 6 is clearly not as good as 2 in 5.
What would you pick?
9 day fortnight. At least every 4 weeks you get a Friday -Monday off. The days are only as long as our longest days now.hewittinspain wrote: ↑17 May 2025, 11:51What's the better option you think? 4 day weeks will be finishing about 5pm and out walking for 8hrs. 2 in 6 is clearly not as good as 2 in 5.

This is something I’ve said in other threads.claretandblue wrote: ↑17 May 2025, 09:25They aren't, they're being imposed to make longer days so that you have longer delivery time.
The problem in a lot of offices and mine being one is that the rep needs to explain each pattern choice clearly to everyone including all start and finish times so I'm hoping this is set out clearly in order for us to make our choice. There are lots of staff with children at school, lots of staff that doesn't want to walk the streets longer than they already are. If the finish times on the 9 day fortnight are the same then I'd personally go for that.Pidleypoo wrote: ↑17 May 2025, 19:229 day fortnight. At least every 4 weeks you get a Friday -Monday off. Just don’t think that a Friday and Saturday off one week for the next week to be Saturday Monday is very good.
Also you never have a Wednesday off.
Think if we’re getting all of this change then we could get something better for ourselves.
The reps haven't got a clue what's going onhewittinspain wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 18:20The problem in a lot of offices and mine being one is that the rep needs to explain each pattern choice clearly to everyone including all start and finish times so I'm hoping this is set out clearly in order for us to make our choice. I hope when the rep speaks to us then all start and finish times and all days off are clear for everyone.
From what I understand about some of it is that there’s an opportunity for us to start earlier because less Lorry’s will be needed each day.hewittinspain wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 18:20The problem in a lot of offices and mine being one is that the rep needs to explain each pattern choice clearly to everyone including all start and finish times so I'm hoping this is set out clearly in order for us to make our choice. We were told that any extra time would be going on the finish time, not the start time.Pidleypoo wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 19:23From what I understand about some of it is that there’s an opportunity for us to start earlier because less Lorry’s will be needed each day.hewittinspain wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 18:20The problem in a lot of offices and mine being one is that the rep needs to explain each pattern choice clearly to everyone including all start and finish times so I'm hoping this is set out clearly in order for us to make our choice. That’s a bit of speculation because let’s be honest, who tf knows what’s going to happen.
We weren’t.claretandblue wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 19:29We were told that any extra time would be going on the finish time, not the start time.Pidleypoo wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 19:23From what I understand about some of it is that there’s an opportunity for us to start earlier because less Lorry’s will be needed each day.hewittinspain wrote: ↑18 May 2025, 18:20The problem in a lot of offices and mine being one is that the rep needs to explain each pattern choice clearly to everyone including all start and finish times so I'm hoping this is set out clearly in order for us to make our choice. What start and finish times do the shift allowances kick in? I assume it must be down to a specific minute of the day/night.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 May 2025, 02:09If there's going to be less lorries going to DOs I think it'll be the earlier runs that get axed, as that would make RM the most savings, less shift allowances to pay out
No it won’t.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 May 2025, 02:09If there's going to be less lorries going to DOs I think it'll be the earlier runs that get axed, as that would make RM the most savings, less shift allowances to pay out
It's probably in the downloads section somewhere.SkiSunday wrote: ↑19 May 2025, 14:33What start and finish times do the shift allowances kick in? No need for MCs to start later. More of the 2C would be moved to nights, with less agency on lates. They axed our later 2C run a while back, so leaving it all for earlies to do is not an option.Pidleypoo wrote: ↑19 May 2025, 16:47No it won’t.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 May 2025, 02:09If there's going to be less lorries going to DOs I think it'll be the earlier runs that get axed, as that would make RM the most savings, less shift allowances to pay out
But if that was the case then it would also mean mail centres would have to start later.
