It's gonna be a whole mess. Walks literally need to be on average 40 minutes shorter than what they are now for this to work without rushing around. Martin Walsh said something about D2Ds but not sure if the plan is to have a limit on those or not going forward. The vertical frame idea is a joke, it's been horizontal prepping for many decades and now someone comes up with this idea?!

We have never nested d2d's always prepped in our frames, which were mostly single slots up until the last revision. Now being a pilot office the remaining single slots have gone.

I'm still unsure why that would affect your quality of life?

Are you not having to 'cold call' a lot houses that have no mail just to post your 'nested' d2d's?
Any other pilot office observations, like prepping all d2d on a Monday? Or are you still on a 4 hour delivery span?
We were told d2d's would be prepped on a Saturday. In reality they are getting prepped half on Monday and Half on Tuesday, leaving not enough days to deliver them.

The planners have gave us '5 hour' delivery spans. Far too much mail (2 or 3 days worth) to get the duties cleared in that time frame.

So how are the 30 hour duties dealing with that? Are they just jumping straight in a van when they start in the morning? Are the 37 hour duties managing to do IPS, D2D, Prep, tie down, van checks and loading/unloading for paired walks every day alone? Please do tell x

As I have already said, we are cutting off. Too much work to do in too little time.

There's this constant back and forth between celebrating five centuries of existence and then tearing up anything that's wasn't invented last week. One of these days we're going to walk in to find the office has been selected as a trial office for square tyres.
The machine stops.

How many walks did they put back in? Also how many extra reserves does your office have now?

They put in 2 walks out of an office with 70 walks.

Most walks haven't been changed, you just have approx 15 mins extra to do the double mail.

We have about 10 reserves, but most of them are still covering sick/annual leave.

I think even for RM that would be a Bridgestone too far.

Why would you nest your D2D to save time, when you are told not to?

Does it not make more sense to do as instructed, then cut off??
When there are 3 upwards, it’s an absolute balls ache trying to separate them when delivering the mail, much easier to nest them.
